Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

Been away for a while... But just to pick up on the previous question... Yes, I can confirm first hand that the injector I got fitted with (the modified one) failed after 4 months... There are a couple of people on SEAT and Skoda forums that have had a repeat failure... Hope it was just bad...

Pretty sure that is illegal. Don't care what the dealership says about loopholes. My car was a 1 year out of warranty when the my failed injector was swapped, and that part failed within 4 months... It was fitted by an independant, but as it was a TPS part (Audi supplied basically) it had to...

I hope you paid by Credit Card. Call the card company and tell them there is a disputed transaction, you were charged for a service that was not requested and were forced to pay becuase they would not release the car otherwise. You want a complete reversal of the payment, which was only done...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

Maybe if VOSA weren't spineless, you'd have received a letter warning you of the problem before hand... alas their latest instruction was to tell us to stop contacting them... too many complaints gave them a headache. You should get the injectors diagnosed and changed ANYWAY. I would call Audi...

The last few official letters being sent out from the various VAG customer services have one theme in common: They admit fault by refunding everyone They admit fault by swapping the parts They admit fault by not fighting the issue because they would lose Except they don’t ever mention they...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

I appreciate the thread is long so here is a summary: - There are no definite symptons that will indicate a failure is about to happen (flatspots, juddering, mpg reports vary between owners) - The thread is about defective Siemens injectors fitted to 170bhp 2.0L Audis - You can get them swapped...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

I have always loved Audis and I love the A4, but this whole thing has given me a headache, and the fact they are actively ignoring customers abroad, and not even sending a circular to others who are going to break down next is sickening. If we stop sending VOSA forms, and VAG don't release...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

I had the same thing, with the same diagnosis from the breakdown people. The car will fire with that stuff sprayed into it, but the injector was still very dead. At that point they usually misdiagnose it as a fuel pump failure, until you go to a garage and they work out it's actually an...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

He's confirmed elsewhere as .vosa.gov.uk, bad spelling, childlike copy/paste and all... If you "THINK that you MAY experiance this fault in the FUTURE"... how will the owners know if nobody is contacting them and informing them of this case? If you are a clairvoyant, psychic , or a magic 8...

@VOSA, are your inboxes too full? Too many ****** off customers? To many fathers and mothers calling and asking about the vehicle safety? Diddums... get a bigger inbox, get VAG to recall the vehicles and you won't get the reports of families breaking down all over the country. Maybe if you...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

Dear VOSA, seeing as you always seem to be out of office everytime I email you, I'll call you out here in public... Why aren't any of the other 1000s of owners not being informed about this defect? Why is the support only for the owners who already know about it and are chasing compensation and...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

Can an admin please verify this is a genuine VOSA rep? There is also a Romanian reporter on the BRISKODA forum who claims the new injectors are no different to the old ones, just rebranded as "continental" and will be prone to fail in a few years just as these ones... ... Giving VAG enough...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

You are right. Although the modified version was released mid 2010, the 170s stopped being sold at "our" spec at different times. The chart is 2006 2007, so it would have been 2008 figues (which I never added) that should have been ignored. If any of these variants stopped being rolled out with...

I used to get that as well, but decided to change oil every 10k miles instead of every 10,000,000,000 miles on "longlife" recommendation. The shudders stop for a couple of months, then start again until got the oil is changed again... ... my vehicle suffered 3 injector failures in its lifetime...

The figures are for number of cars ADDED to the road on that year, for that particular model. The original figures were for a running total, but I had to subtract numbers as some models included 2005s for example, and also the fact that the latter half of 2007 models on some variants did not...

Anyone else with this problem on 2006 2.0 TDi? Injectors...

If we ignore 2007 figures, ~2.3% of all owners have reported faults to VOSA so far, with a couple more trickling per week per forum? That's a lot of injectors to swap out… Just note that this is my own research based on whatever I could find online, and should not be treated as hard...

Ok I see what you mean now. ... I would report this to VOSA so it's on record, and I would contact Audi UK to cover the rest of the bill... Personally I would pursue this. I cannot give any advice from experience as you're the first to have a follow-up issue from the failure. You have nothing...

I am impressed you didn't punch him in the face at that point. I was told over the phone there was NO problem and it was WEAR AND TEAR, "just like brake pads for example". And when I asked them why the injectors don't get checked in their "diagnosis" and "services"... he told me, and I quote...
