    Time for new tyres...

Goodyear Eagle F1's 14k miles in and they have 3-4mm left on them (maybe slightly more on the rear) after a few drag days and a trip to the ring and back.

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

It's currently in to Mackies transmissions up in Glasgow having the Drive position sensor (i'm sure thats what he said) replaced with wiring loom, parts aint too pricey, labour is, just one of them things.

    Stage 2 not right .

I can confirm what Razza said about the power. I've not long had it down to MRC for a gearbox map and it pulled 465 in pretty warm weather. Messed around with it and gave it a gearbox map, now makes 486

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

Yeh, contacted Mackies up here, been recommended by a few folk. Did your specialist diagnose and remove/fit the mechatronics at the time? Or did you need it removed elsewhere?

So it was in at Audi for them to take a look. They won't touch it due to the gearbox map, apparently couldn't even confirm if it was the selector lever sensor. Said it'd need to be stock software to tell. Considering going down to MRC, getting it put to stock so I then have more options.

When did the sports diff become an option?

I have a 2009 S4 but it's Stronic with sports diff, don't have supersport seats though, there will be cars out there but far and few between with everything.

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

Sorry my bad, not had a chance to yet, as said it's not happening daily, but still happening at random occasions, not linked to any speed/gear or distance driven. Now that christmas is out the way if the weather is good at the weekend i'm going to get under the car and look. Was your happening...

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

Might take a look at least. I'll have a skim through paperwork, see if I can get a part number from that and see about any warranty. Had a look, not in warranty but it was only 130 all in for it. Will dig more, as above its not a constant thing.

Well here is hoping so. Cheers for that mate, will take a look. Just glad it's not any of the more fatal errors!

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

It doesn't allow us to clear it with VCDS but will clear itself if car is left for an hour or two, but i've not had the MIL come up since I posted the thread.

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

Any thoughts? Driving to work and back is fine, only seems to be either 7th gear causing it or sitting at a set speed (although, i'm not sure about that as the last time it happened on the motorway I wasn't on it for very long and it was a varied speed)

So turns out the fault when run through VCDS is the Gear Lever Position Sensor.. Anyone had to fork out for that to be fixed?

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

So does that sound like an electrical signal problem? Also is the TCM on these actually the Mechatronics or does it have a separate transmission control module?

S4 Gearbox Malfunction + Parking brake + TCM

So, some of you will remember razzas S4 had a mechatronics and clutch packs replaced, well it seems to be having some more issues, so driving the other day on the bypass, speeds ranging from 50-70 gearbox malfunction pops up, continue driving, car doesn't act any differently, came to a stop at...

    Paddle Extensions that fit?

I second these, feel proper solid, feel like they are part of the original wheel actually, and I always get comments about how they are actually a decent size for a change!

Rings be gone! Saloon rear ring delete

I'm completely badge less on the rear too, have black rings on my front grill and just a supercharger badge on each wing. I was totally considering rebadging it as a 2.0tdi at one point as it was so quiet for a 3.0tfsi!

The 20" wheels are going !

I've got Razza's old car now and it's now lowered 20mm still on 19's, I stay in edinburgh (work in town too) and I actually don't find it that bad, infact my other half's Mini Cooper we just picked up is a worse ride on like 15" wheels!! :|
