No this isnt the normal motor issue as they are working (i think the lights adjust when switcing on) but they just dont go high enough. I was wondering what controlls the height of the lights?

Know a while ago i did my Arb's and so had the subframe off and noticed the link that comes down onto the wishbone. Is this the sensor that controls the height if so i will have a play at tring to adjust this and see if it changes the height of the lights.

Also how can you fix the white adjusters as mine are all brittle and falling off. and im not to keen on spending the silly money Audi want for new headlights.

Any help would be great as driving home from work is rather scary only being able to see a few feet infront of the car.

Have you got them adjusted as high as they go?

i had the same problem, on mine the white manual adjusters on the back of the light broke off. so i used some small circlips to hold them in position. mike

i know i was having to put my main beam on because i couldnt see and no one was flashing me.

theres a sensor on the front left suspension leg and 1 on the rear left suspension arm.

Mine dids this last night although it's now fixed itself.

My previous TT also did this, I took it into the dealers who manually adjusted them. I'm not sure where the sensor is but I think it's on the offside rear suspension.

i have had this problem for ages, what i did was what other people have done and find a wall, park a few feet from it and switch on the light on a level ground and let them rest at a proper level. then disconnect the auto adjusters on the lights. then manually adjust each headlight up till they are both level and u should be ok.

but dont set them too high or you will be blinding people. as for the broken white adjusters, go easy with them or they will work themselves loose and if u lose them they are a nightmare to find. lucky i got a donor set of headlights from a member on here (thanks once again!) which i used to sort out mine, which make mine good again.

there is a few posts on here about this so please search them out!

Proper headlight adjustment requires vagcom doesn't it?

I lowered mine as the main beam was too high and next to useless. Now its spot on and doesn't dazzle. Dipped beam is a little low though.

Can't adjust it with shareware vagcom so never mind!

mine are well too low aswell cant see more than a few ft in front at nighttime

Ok know knowing there are 2 sensors i will have a play see if i can solve this.
