I have just been to halfords and picked up a set of Bosch 21/21JS for the front. Now they seem to look different to the ones i have on. Also they are supposed to just clip on, but the existing fitting doesn't look like they will just clip on. What size should the blades be?? Have i got the wrong ones, as they guy at halfords put my reg into the computer to check.

Sometimes, you may have had the wrong blades on there to start off with. the new ones are possibly correct, usually there is a load of different attachments to attach to the car, or you can try and salvage the clips that are there.

hope that helps

I think you will find Bosch make blades with specific fittings for Audi, and they are available only at a dealership. I bought a set of 3 recently and it cost me £37 - if anyone knows any different let me know!

Worth considering an Aero conversion from vagparts? From memory its about £60, but the blades aren't exchangeable, so if your gonna do it, do it before you buy new blades!!

after looking around a bit, i worked it they should have been 22". So i took them back and got a refund. So i have just bought a pair off ebay which seem the correct ones and also have the different fitting which mine seems to have for £13.89. Which is much cheaper than the £20 pair i had bought from halfords.

just bought these also :arco: just awaiting them being delivered very good price!!

Just had our 02 avant fail the mot on wiper blades, and there's me thinking I'd checked everything I could. I'd never been so confident with any car that it would pass.:whistle2:

I work just down from the local stealers Aberdeen Audi, so since I didn't have time to shop around, and on the advice of the mot centre "you can't get them from anybody else..." I nipped in there.

The nice man kindly gave me 2 wipers in exchange for £32.44. I nearly fainted as I wasn't expecting that.:ermm:

Happy days.

Mike.

holy ****! why is it some bits are so cheap and other bits are so stupidly dear?

FAIL MOT ON WIPER BLADES??? :wtf:
that fella have to hate you or something!?! :sign_unfair:

Not something I'd even come across before, hence I didn't check them.

They were both split about 30mm at the ends, so if they'd got much worse it would have been a scratched windscreen. I've super glued wipers in the past to get round this mind you.

Short of buying your local mot tester a pint, is there anywhere that you can get what's required for an mot? Suppose I should look at the paperwork:whistle2:

Last time I looked Bosch don't do the wipers for the B6 (not anywhere I could find). VAGPARTS sold me the wrong ones as well (B5 not B6), so also had to go to the stealers. Wiper blades only available from the dealer? What on earth is going on? It's a ****** conspiracy.
Report them to the monopolies commission I say!
Also I had on old Golf that failed its MOT because the fast wiper speed was no faster than the slow one, although both were pretty fast.
Also last year my B6 failed because the tax disc holder was too big! And also there was no post code on the rear number plate. It's all life & death decisions down at the ministry of transport!

Lol that is pretty petty!

In fairness to the wiperblades tho' visibility is of course very important and if the blades cannot keep the screen clear in heavy rain it could be quite dangerous.
