I've booked to take my MRC stage 2 B8 S4 to a Vmax 200 event. Just wondered if anyone else on here had ever attended or know someone who has. Not sure what to expect from the event or my car.

Hey,

I usually Marshall at the event with a few friends, only way we can afford to get in. It's a fun event, you go down the ~1.5k runway in pairs, go through the speed trap, brake come back for another run.

You get all sorts of cars from remapped A4's to lambo's. Usually there is a sponsor so you get some shiny new cars like jags or Aston's as well.

You should get all the info in the brochure and a how to/safety talk on the day.

My only suggestions are come with a full tank, have good brakes and enjoy

Thanks CupraDine, do you know if there is a Tesco or Shell garage near the Barracks? Also 1.5k sounds short that's less than a mile I had assumed it would be longer?

There are a few fuel stops around, the closest Shell and Tesco are 20-30 mins away so I suggest filling up before turning up.

I realised I typed 1.5k when I meant about 1.5 miles... sorry  Google says it is about 1.7 miles. Plenty of room to play with then.

I haven't been on here for a while works been crazy. So V max update. Attended in July and was really impressed. Everyone really friendly and chatty. I hit 170mph on a couple of runs. Not bad considering the runway is only 2000m/1.2 miles. My 0-60 times I've been led to believe worked out at low 3s which is what I expected. I left everything I run against off the line up to about 140mph then anything with over 500bhp walked passed me, which is a little frustrating.
So now the dilemma further tune the B8 S4 or start again with something more powerful to start with. My head says stick with the S4 in these uncertain times but I'm not sure what if any options there are after stage 2 (MRC). My heart says buy an RS7 and tune.
