Making S4 louder (intake end)

Someone mentioned removing a silencer at the top of the supercharger and some sound proofing that can be removed (in the engine bay, presumably).

I'd start in the airbox. Don't know if yours is the same as the one in my A4 but the standard config scoops air downwards as it comes into the box. I chopped some of that off so the incoming air is now flowing more directly and you should see a slight noise difference from that. There's also likely a flapper assembly which you can modify.
I like you wanted a tad more noise from the SC.
I fitted an aftermarket Ramair filter (not sure if it adds that much to the noise), plus in the bottom/side of the airbox there's a blanked off circular part which I drilled out with a 50mm hole cutter, that's how I left it for a while until a second hand Forge silicone intake pipe was put up for sale on this forum.
That is what made the biggest difference as the standard intake is convoluted pipe and also has a noise reduction thingy attached, where as the Forge is a smooth bore direct onto the throttle body.
I only used the Forge one as that's what turned up for sale, but any of the smooth bore pipes such as 034 etc will do the same thing.

According to the designers that and the broadband damper within the pipe itself do the bulk of the noise reduction to the intake.
For the more ambitious noise-seekers, there's the multilayer damping plate on top of the compressor housing, and then noise-insulating mats at the rear of and below the housing. Check pp30-31 of SSP925803
