Hey guys let me try make this short and quick.

bought my a3 8v around a week ago, got myself a Obdelven next gen scanners to code some convenient features.
Activated a few mods:
Scandinavian DRL(Basically DRL for tail lights)
Mirror dip
Window open/close with ignition off
Oil temperature in DIS
High intensity brake light(brake flashes when hard braking)
Needle sweep
Air recirc memory

After activating all these a few days ago today afternoon my car decided to stop altogether when engine start stop kicked in after driving for about 20 mins?? Got it jumpstarted and disabled tail light DRL as i was thinking thats the latest mod i’ve done so it must be that.

6 hours later battery dead again. And no i didnt leave the obdeleven scanner inside car at all.

i will disable all mods i’ve done through obdeleven and see if that changes anything.

Does anyone know what could be causing it?

Appreciate each and every contribution

Don't know if it's relevant but I have one of those things and every time I connect it up and have a play it seriously drains the battery! Now I'm no way an expert, but I would be surprised if the mods are causing any issue. I have a couple activated and not had any problems as long as the battery is charged.

I bought one of those CTEK MX5 chargers a few months and after a few hours on that it all appears fine again.

I'm very aware that I have a 6 year old car on it's original factory battery so perhaps I do need to upgrade the thing.....:whistle2:

Ah yes i agree, when connected they slurp up the battery.

same problem here my battery was the audi original from factory so its been on the car 7 years.

i’ve fitted a new battery and removed all the mods as I had fair few credits left and didnt want to have same issue on the new battery.

atm im planning on activating the mods one by one every week just to be sure it werent one of the mods from obdeleven.

I just changed my original battery out after six years, Tony. I had an issue where the car started ok, but the dashboard lit up with all the errors that you get if the battery has been disconnected, even though it hadn't been. Battery measured out at 12.07v with the car not running. Bought a new Varta EFB battery from tayna.co.uk and after a half hour drive to reset all the error messages, it's all behaving like new again. I hadn't really realised that stop/start hadn't been working unless the car had been on a long run, now it kicks in after only a couple of minutes.
