Hey guys, done a bit of research on this and seems to be various things, but I'm a bit lost on where to start troubleshooting so would appreciate any help.
Installed an aftermarket HU the other day and all seemed fine, used a wiring harness converter from connests2 to go to my full BOSE amplified system and I thought it went okay until I actually turned the engine on and drove the thing..
First, there was a weird, almost squeal coming from the speakers that was directly related to the engine revs, apparently, this is alternator related but it seems to go away after a while or get to the point where it's not annoying, but the bigger issue is when my lights turn on...
As soon as my headlights turn on there is a very loud buzzing coming from the system. I've taken out the HU, plugged in the RCAs from the HU to AUX in on a Bluetooth speaker and the sound is buzz-free, as soon as the harness RCAs are plugged into the HU, I get the buzz.
So I've pretty much eliminated any HU issues or weird grounding issues to the HU itself, the problem seems to be from the harness side to the BOSE amp in the back.
Does anyone have any tips on what I can do to solve this? Everything I read just says to ground the **** out of it, but I'm not really sure where/what to ground, especially since the noise goes away with other speakers plugged in.
Looks like I'll be plugging the Symphony back in as the buzzing is just too loud and irritating, shame as the BT FM transmitter I have sounds rubbish!
Cheers.
