So today i got myself a OBD reader as I had my EML on. I have found 8 fault codes. I knew what 1 of them would be which was due to my new K&N airfilter.

The Engine Codes are as follows
16500
17947
16795
16395
17522
16725
18010
17748

I am mechanically minded so i'm comfortable doing the work but if any one has any idea about how hard it will be and also what parts i may need thanks in advanced people.

Clear all faults and see which ones come back. Most of those i have seen caused with flat or low batterys, some are you catalysts, i cant actually see one relating to your air filter?

Good Morning guys, thanks for the response.

So I had changed the battery recently before the car had gone in for its MOT 2 weeks ago . The guys there said there was a ton of engine codes which they had cleared they did say the most common one was about the timing sensor and said it would cost around 800-900 to have it changed hence why i would rather do that myself lol.
I thought that the code 16795 was to do with the arfilter as it said about air , my bad lol .

Find another garage Hugh. £800-900 for a cam position sensor supply & fit !!!!!!!!
The secondary air injection pump casing is notorious for the rivets failing causing it to leak. It's no big deal to leave it as it only operates for about 45 secs on cold start up, but it's an easy fix just replace the rivets with nuts & bolts.

I know i nearly had a heart attack lol they said they would have to take the front end off and it is a lot of work but I have watched a few videos on youtube seems fairly straight forward but will need a torqe wrench first .

As for the secondry air pump is that a easy enoughh job ?

Coolant temp sensor failure is almost standard on all VAG cars from that era. Really easy to replace, but use a genuine part or you'll probably have to replace it again. Buy cheap buy twice applies to most VAG engine sensors. Clutch pedal switch is easy job & only about £10 ish.

Ok cool I will order the parts today that are the easy bits lol.

SAI repair is pretty easy once you have access. Drill out the housing rivets, & replace with nuts & bolts. Ive done it on mkiv Golfs, but never on an Audi, shouldn't be much different though.

ok cool fingers crossed then it is easy enough to do . I will grab the parts from Audi.
