I reversed back and didn't see the boulder, hit my left bumper so badly i wanna end my self right now :weary:

It's totally my fault. I want to know how much will it cost to get it repaired and fixed? I have no idea and I have no idea where to get it repaired as well. It a A3 saloon Daytona grey

Smart repair guy would sort that. £200 possibly?
That's what I'd expect to pay up here (north west)

Its the wing too :-( Although it isn't the best thing long term) you could get a smart repair until you have the money to get a proper job done.
A lot of the smart repairers will give you an online quote based on pics.

Well - if money is tight the answer is to leave it. I would have a go at polishing it out. Probably won’t remove it but would improve.

Yeah it'll be plastic won't it? So not going to rust or anything if left for a while.

Hi what is a smart repair guy? I am from Birmingham if that helps. Thank you. £200 is ok.

Basically they'll just sand and paint a small section rather than a full bumper or whatever. Still looks brand new but obviously way cheaper than painting a full panel. Google smart repairs near me.

Have been quoted £300 for a full front bumper respray (due to lacquer peel) from an Audi approved bodyshop near Lincoln.

As others have said a lot of that will polish out, a mate of mines wife did the following to her Adam last week (she hit a big blue metal bin!), he spent a couple of hours with a MF cloth and some Meguiar's Ultimate compound:

That's paint transfer mate. You're not polishing scratches out by hand.

Yeah I know but he can make it look a lot better than it looks now.

I think that's right. I also reckon that maybe those peeps who say most of the OP's damage will polish out are being a little bit optimistic. A brush with an immovable object like a large rock doesn't usually end well, and lots of those are gouges rather than 'can you feel it with your fingernail' scratches.

The upside is that at least most of it is on the bumper and it won't go rusty.

Rather than spend money on a stopgap repair now, I think I'd live with it and try to squirrel away the odd fiver whenever possible to get it done properly later on.

I'd get some clearcoat on the damage on the wing in case it's gone through the galvanising too. It might not look beautiful, but it'll stop it rusting in the interim.

And for what it's worth it is only a car, especially at the moment.

Like as not the only person who'll give it more than split second's thought is the OP.

Without a doubt. When the scratches are white, you're past the paint.
There's no point spending time and money polishing when you're gonna need it painting anyway.
Luckily my scrape was with another car and they're more flexible than a rock.
I wouldn't have a try polishing it anyway.

Wasn’t GW Bodyworks was it in Skellingthorpe? I can vouch for their work :icon thumright:

What polish or compound will you guys recommend to see off v light scratches and swirls on my black Q2? I have heard of Meguiar but not sure which one to choose or which one will be better on black paint.

Thanks

Try your local used car dealer to see who they use for smart repairs. I went this route on a metallic VW Touran some years ago, and had the balls to walk into the Mercedes garage where I used to live and ask them similar a few years later when I had a dent. They got the pdi man to sort it for me.

Meguiar's Ultimate compound, I had a black S3 and did this with a DA: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threa...in-with-the-new-slightly.333155/#post-3044853

I've also used Poorboys black hole polish to finish off, but that's a filler, so it will wash out in time.

Thank you problem is i dont have a polish machine and would be doing on hand as i live in a flat and dont have access to a power supply for the machine..

Proper feel for u buddy

...into the Mercedes garage where I used to live...
Why were you living in a Mercedes garage?

Was it a barney with the wife?

Did she snap all your golf clubs over her knee and chuck the bag at your head as you stumbled off down the path?

I bet she did.

No way will a Smart repair fix that damage. It will have to go to a body shop for proper repair and also paint blended into adjacent panels.

It most certainly was. . . and thanks for the recommendation
Thought it might have been, they get all Lincoln Audi’s pre sale and repair work. Yeah they’re a good bunch of guys, sorted me out a few times with painting callipers etc and a bumper respray on my Dads car which looked brand new.

Excellent.
Mine's Brilliant Red and my big worry was the colour match.
As soon as is sensibly possible, I'll get booked in to G & W.

I got quoted £180 from chips away. Is this a good deal? Is it worth it? Can I find somewhere cheaper? Apprexiate some advice thank you:)
