Well it is that time again to give the old bus's interior a mid winter clean and that means fitted carpet and carpet mats.
I vacuum my old bus weekly and try to get as much sucked up as possible , nothing worse than a grubby bus really , well for me that is.
But how clean does vacuuming leave your old bus, well you may think after a good old session with the vacuum it will be spanking, it may look fine, but don't be so sure and you'll be surprised at how dirty the flooring gets even with regular vacuuming etc.
I spent a good hour this afternoon with my vax carpet cleaner doing all the fixed carpets and carpet over mats and this was the result after just doing the front.

Dirtymat

filthy or what, the rear wasn't as bad as I don't normally have anyone in the back accept the woofer and has a big rug to lay on, but from the front it, it really makes you think.
Luckily my vax carpet cleaner with attachment sprays soapy water and then sucks it up as it goes so the carpets dry in 10 mins.

If you want to treat your old bus to one thing , give the carpets a good shampoo, it's makes all the difference, also cuts down dust in the cabin which can rise from the carpets.

Ok that's it for today, off for a cuppa now.

I done this with a vax on my old Bora's cloth seats it was disgusting! After several tanks full it was still coming out murky so I gave up! We are renting the rug doctor from tesco soon to do all our carpets it's crazy how filthy they actually get.

Thats a job im meaning to get onto at some point, its one of the only cleaning related jobs i haven't done yet.

I regularly scrub my 2 tone grey/black s line leather seats in my bus, its always surprising how dirty the water in the bucket gets and my bus its pretty clean

Just think Alex, all that dust and dirt in your carpets floating around , sticking to your lovely clean seats and everywhere else for that matter.

Go on, do it , you know it makes sense.

Might wait until the summer so the carpets dry quicker

That's no excuse:whistle2:, use a good machine and the carpets are left only slighty damp for a short while, run the engine for 5-10mins with the heater set to floor and they are dry, job done.

I last did mine with my vax machine in sept 2017 , they were even worse that time, so a couple of years on and it builds up.

Clean my 2.0T special edition's interior maybe twice a year in spring and at the end of summer when i clean the outside of the car

It gets a very muddy e-mtb chucked it it every weekend for 50 weekends a year

Car has spent its whole life as a family car so the interior and bodywork have been abused but mechanically its spot on, 12 month service schedule from new, full Audi service history, anytime its needed something its got it, just a shame the two previous lady owners and their kids didn't take more care, it might of made me want to take more care of the bodywork and interior, no longer care and im just running it till eventually it becomes too uneconomical to repair/ keep
