Chrome wing mirrors

I've been offered chrome wing mirrors for my car for a very good price..I was wondering however the ones I want to buy are heated and j dont believe mine are would this make a difference in fitting the parts. By this I mean would I still be able to adjust these mirrors with my switch in the car

all the 8l mirrors are heated, that is a standard feature

The wires corrode on them you can check by pulling the glass out, that or they been replaced with cheap mirror

It could be just the glass lenses the almost like a consumable unit. Check with a multimeter this will give you the answer.

I would get them when I took my plastic ones off to swap to the aluminium ones that’s when I noticed my old mirrors we corroded, the aluminium ones are definitely a worth while upgrade seem to go for silly money now

Also check they are genuine aluminium and not plastic chrome effect I got caught out with that one luckily got my money back

Nothing wrong with them if you know what you’re buying. The plastic ones I sent back were sold as genuine aluminium but were plastic and for what I paid for them I have picked up two sets of genuine ones on all other Audi’s they are plastic aluminium effect s3 8l b5 s4,rs4 were the only aluminium mirrors

@Asim1 ask him for the part number and then check that before you waste any money.

I paid £150 for my set that’s fitted and a £90 for the spare set which are in better condition then the ones fitted, anyone paying more than £150 needs to seek help ha

That’s more than a small crack, I’m not 100% sure but I think the chrome base is different from standard so might not be able to use you old wing mirror base
When warren was doing his folding mirrors he said it didn’t work with the chrome ones but did the plastic which leeds me to believe the bases are different

I'm pretty sure exactly the same if I remember rightly just undo three screws underneath but they tend to be a bit corroded so needs to be done with caution
