After 3 years to the day, and 93,000 miles - I had my final farewell to my trusty B9. Certainly had plenty of memories / experiences with it over the years and has been a solid workhorse.
The great:
- MMI is fantastic, and I am yet to come across any other system which comes close in terms of how well this worked.
- Towing with the A4 pulled like a train (and without too!)
- Driver assistance is stunning against other manufacturers in it's class - the detail put into the intricacies of how it adjusts based on your drive select, traffic jam assist, predictive efficiency is just awesome. Will be interesting to see how they develop this further.
- Absolutely reliable, only ever had routine servicing other than the climate screen partially failing. Never let me down.
The not so great:
- Seats and driving position leaves a little to be desired
- Not the most elegant / simple of car to get in / out of
- Wish I could have kept it longer!
- Never did get used to the lag / response of the DSG gearbox. Sometimes it goes like a rocket, others I need an appointment.
I'm in a temporary vehicle (Toyota C-Hr - meh) until I take delivery of a Nissan Leaf e+ in mid-Feb - Going full EV! Will be a significant difference in cost from the Audi with 0% company car tax from April. Fuel costs will be a ton cheaper too.
Wish I could have got into something more premium but my companies change in policy forcing my hand somewhat, so I am just making the best of it for the time being. It's been fun owning an Audi whilst it lasted!!
