Hi folks, my PFL does not have any sound deadening under the bonnet. I just seen the car wow vid of the
FL and it had sound deadening under the bonnet. I assume the PFL didnt have it as Ive had the car from new, but what I want to know is if the FL sound deadening can be retro fitted to the PFL. You will be asking why on earth I would even want to, there is a reason. I had a dent on the bonnet from something falling out of the garage, its been pdr out and is fine, but I have a few scratches under the bonnet left from the process. This will conveniently cover it up.

FL RS has no Sound deadening under the bonnet.

Oh, the one tested on CARWOW against the Seat Cupra seemed to have one. Thats the reason why I asked

Must be a WLTP thing.

Thanks for the pic, I would never have been able to do that lol. If anyone can shed some light as to whether that will fit a PFL, that would be very much appreciated. Ta

You’ll need all the clips / fixings etc and then the actual sound insulating material itself.

Pretty sure the bonnets haven’t changed since 2015.

Seems a lot to spend to hide a scar.

Surely that all shouldn't cost that much would it ?

I always assumed they weren’t used in the rs cars due to the high under bonnet temps as the insulation would slow heat dissipation.

I agree with @Slowracer on this one.
I enquired about a year ago at Audi, regarding retro fitting the insulation and was advised NOT to, as it would slow down the heat dissipation produced by the 5cyl engine and may cause overheating problems.

The stance on this seems to have changed.

Can’t think why though, I’ll have to wait until the 1st knackered Engine rolls into our place.

Could have been a one of press car perhaps, I watch videos of the 2015 rs3 and that one had wingback bucket seats. Looked fantastic, pity it didn’t come as an option here in the uk market.

Why on one car and not the other ?
Cost....

The Audi A4 B6 had a slam panel cover. The B7 did not

I ordered My RS3 (limousine) on May 10th. It was built on week 26 (17th Jun - 21st Jun) and delivered to me on 8th of July.
It has OPF filter and has no speed limit. It does not have any sound deadening under the bonnet.

I was looking at a new DNWA variant FL yesterday and notice that this has the under bonnet sound deadening.

I'm guessing the bonnets are the same so it should fit to a DAZA.

So the FL (pre-GPF) had no sound deadening at all? I have it in my 19 RS3. I've thought about removing it to keep things a bit cooler...
