I have a slight glow on my steering light that won’t extinguish. Have had a couple of diagnostics done and no faults stored? Can anyone shed any light on this? My car is a 62 plate.

Is normal for the white dials, just a characteristic of them, very feint glow. I have often thought to remove the binnacle and put a layer or two of masking tape over it so it's not visible, but will still show bright

This light is a faint amber, but only noticeable at night. When I start the car the steering light is red, then extinguishes with all the others. I’ve been told that it could be the onset of the steering rack failing?

I never got it on my red dash, but as soon as I got the white one, it was there, is a very common issue

Which tool was used to test?

I have no idea? I took it to a VW Audi specialist for a diagnostic. Should I get a diagnostic on the dashboard? As you can probably tell, I know nothing about cars!

The dash can be sent off and repaired, but tbh it's a common problem
