Hello everyone, i'd like you to introduce to my suspension restoration project.

The goal here is to restore the (not in so good condition) suspension into its former glory, this includes:

-new bushing, bearings
-new springs, shocks (ordered a kit from stance+)
-steering rack, new shafts
-driveshafts
-control arms
-stabilizator and linkages
-brakes, new brake pistons, new pads
-and the rest

first step is disassembly then cleaning and finally repainting.
i'll be cleaning everything with a sandblaster cause i have a good compressor and then repainting everything with epoxy primer and then some black paint (the one made for suspension parts).

Awaiting for your feedback guys! and if you have any tips to share with me please do so :)

Today i disassembled the whole front end and started working on the steering rack. I got a restored new(ish) one for 80 euros and also new(ish) joints and shafts. Noticed the shaft one the left was thicker than the one on the right (why?) so i got both thick ones and grinded the hex side so it would fit in the rack. Comparison of the old (thin) shaft vs the newer thick ones on each side:

Also tried to disassemble the brakes but the piston wasn't moving at all, and it's in pretty bad shape. will try to weld it out tomorrow

Today got the brake piston out (nearly impossible to get out) and started to clean the parts with a sandblaster. got most of them cleaned out, still have a lot to do tho

It should be good. I replaced my springs and shocks last year with new OEM parts and then fitted new track rod ends, wishbone bushes, anti roll bar bushes and drop links and it really made the car feel fresh.

Now the parts are drying up, I'll also be painting the calipers in red instead of black :redface new:
