hi all, so I’ve found a car I like at Doncaster Audi but as I’m from Essex it’s quite a drive to just go up and look at. Can anyone confirm the below are part of the Doncaster group which I could potentially get it delivered to a closer dealer after paying a deposit.
Or if there is another way of getting round this? I would take the car there and then if there was cosmetic issues but after two previous visits with other dealers and deposits taken it has been a nightmare.

Boston (closest dealer at 2hr)
Grimsby
Hull
Lincoln
Sheffield
York

Thanks

The ones you mention are all part of the jct600 group.
I bought my SQ5 from Boston Audi. I dealt direct, put the deposit down and then went to view it at the weekend. It was then delivered up to me the following week.
Tbh I don't think you'd get the best deal through a dealer who don't have the car in their possession, even if it is within group.
Sheffield Audi also sold a car while I was out test driving it:wtf:

Thanks for the reply, I think il leave it a week and see if anymore come up if not il take a trip up there.

Do you recommend any car dealerships other than Audi? Like imperial cars etc

The only other group I've had dealings with in reality is stratstone. No problems with them but the price you see is the price you pay!
I just prefer to go main dealer now though as it's a trusted warranty

Many moons back I phoned Dane Motors VW in Chester about an R32 they had for sale, I spoke to the saleswoman and arranged to go down for a test drive within the next hour. I got there less than an hour later and thought I'd look at the car before seeing the woman I'd spoken to.
I couldn't find it, so assumed she had got it ready for the test drive, went inside and asked for her. She also couldn't find it!!! after looking all around she went to see the boss, the car had been sold in the time from me putting the phone down and getting there. I was :puke: especially when she said do you still want to see it? It was in mint condition and yes I would have bought it.

If I'd have bought it and kept it, I could have sold it today for the same price!!! Holding their value well these days.

It was the same as this one:

I think the majority of dealers have no morals tbh!
The one at Sheffield Audi was an 8V S3, I wouldn't have bought it though, but that's not the point:sadlike:

I've always had a soft spot for the R32 mk4 and mk5...........I've even pondered having one as a weekend toy, but as I only use mine on a weekend anyway, there's not much point lol

I acknowledge your post that it’s PITA of a drive to get there but if it’s a car and spec you really want, then go and see it and fast, or as others have experienced, it may be sold in the interim.

I went to see mine the day after seeing it online and declined the salesman suggestion to put down a refundable deposit, but bought it the day of test drive - first view to purchase ~27 hours.

As others have said, it’s open to anyone until you sign on the dotted line.

Have you checked the mileage? It might be better than you think.
They are quite local to me at Doncaster (I'm East Yorks but know South Yorks well). I didn't follow up on 3 of their cars because they said on their website that they had 3,000 miles on (on 19 reg cars). I opted for one at Perth Audi with 285 miles on. When Jct rang me (after I'd paid a deposit on the Perth one), they confirmed the mileages and one only had 25 miles on so brand new. If it had said that on the advert, I'd have been happy to buy locally. The Jct guy said they always advertise them at more miles than they have.

Also, Jct600 offer a view at home or work and they were willing to come to me from Sheffield. I think it was around 90 miles so they might meet you part way with it to view . Might be worth asking

I’ve enquired so should get a call tomorrow, I will ask about this thanks!

I wasn’t aware of this, I’ll ask them tomorrow, thanks!

It’s doesn’t have everything single thing I’m looking for but it’s the best available at the moment for me. I’ve put a deposit down on an Audi recently and after pulling out for various reasons, it was a PITA getting my deposit back, I think it took 3-4 weeks in total to see it back in my account.

I drove my colleague up from south Herts to Boston Audi to pick up a FL S3 that I helped her get through CarWow.

Dealership seemed much nicer than the ones down here (Watford in particular). They wanted £150 to deliver the car so we ended up going there and I combined it with a family day out :)

Hull Jct didn't ring back and gave me the impression he didn't want to sell but Sheffield jct were very keen. He was still ringing and emailing me photos after I had told him I had paid a deposit on a Perth Audi car. I never thought to ask if his mileages were lower than advertised as they are usually higher than advertised. If I had known his 19 reg car advertised with 3,000 miles on, only had 25, I would have snapped it up but he only told me after I'd paid a deposit on another one. Good luck Kieran

Yes, but then the price variations are massive tbh.
Most of us think our cars are worth more than what they actually are, but you can only get what someone is willing to pay.
Anyone can list a car for sale way above it's worth, doesn't mean it will sell!
I did own a mk4 R32 for 3 months but it went back with stretched chains after dispute with the dealer.
I bought an A3 3.2 instead and that had to have new chains too.....still was a great car though!

Approved used are usually demo, courtesy or staff cars that have an 'available' date four months after registration so book an appointment to view to make sure it's there. They will advertise with a higher mileage so the ad doesn't need regular updates.
The business model is, buy, use the car for four months then sell at cost price, so the 'free' courtesy car doesn't actually cost the dealer anything and keeps their numbers up.
You may be able to take the car away earlier and probably be able to negotiate a price or deal fairly close on a brand new car at the end of the month.

Usually.
Occasional one available immediately, most around here from JCT600 available four months after registration and Sytner group cars advertised with 3000 miles and available at four months old.
