Hi all, had my 2007 a4 avant roughly 5 months, was a really nice car on purchase, full history at kings lynn Audi. Cam belt replaced not long before purchasing as was the oil cooler. Under warranty i had new track rod ends and lower suspension arms plus a coolant flush as there were stilloil spots in the coolant......still a few now. Then 4 weeks ago the egr valve died on me completely so replaced that.
Main issue is this vibration thats on and off, 70+ it vibrated terrible. Blanced all the wheels to no avail. So i had the wheels checked for damage and replaced two tyres, now this seemed to fix the issue 70/80/90 no vibrations. Until it returned the next day fully. Next i swapped the discs and pads, they were a warped mess. Again for a good 80 miles all was good but there is definitely still a shudder there 70+, seen a few people suggest drive shafts, cv joints, engine/transmission mounts. It does shudder on idle also. Interested in peoples thoughts that have had similar. Thanks

Unfortunately not. Still got very slight vibration around 2200 rpm. Since posting the thread ive done around 12000 miles so i think i can rule out anything major. Lads who i share lifts with swear they cant feel anything now. But i still can slightly.

only because i think i have the same issue

i didnt have it before but after changing my driveshafts and snub mount it started. mechanic has said the engine mounts are shot. and he will put his money on them causing the vibration

I have had the same thoughts regarding engine mounts. Id assume the mot would flag that up?

Mot wont pick it up well they didnt on my others halfs car anyway,

The driveshafts were ruined and i told them the issues and still they didnt fail it so i ended up replacing them as it sounding like the wheels were going to fall off and since then she has also always had a wobble at 70-80-90ish yes her car is a zafira b but the same applies in this occasion.

i balanced all the wheels checked for cracks and bends as shes on 19’s, did the tracking, replaced other suspension parts all over time these things have been done a couple of times and the wobble has always been there so id put it down to driveshafts i had fitted, i used a company called j&r i think thats the name anyway, they was super cheap and i wasn't aware that driveshafts can do that when new but i guess its one of them things that you get what you pay for unfortunately.

So id say driveshafts may need replacing but get it on a ramp and have them checked over.

I’ve had new driveshafts fitted and it’s still doing it. And a new snub mount. Could it be my engine mounts??

Yeah i had new driveshafts put on the mrs car and thats when the wobbling started I've heard that it happens when using low quality driveshafts, when you had them replaced was it genuine parts or a good oem spec?

Thats all i can think of tbh as her car does the same thing and I'm convinced its the cheap driveshafts even though they were new, as I've more or less checked it replaced every other possible thing.

As for engine mounts i cant say I've experienced any high speed wobbles personally, the ones I've experienced just sound like the engine moves a lot under hard acceleration.
