Might be a bit of a silly question here, but I've attached a picture of my wash bottle, it has this cable coming out of the top, is that a level sensor? I don't have a DIS stalk on my steering wheel which is why I'm confused here!
I would like to retro fit the DIS stalk so I can see my MPG and what not, but if I already have the level sensor in the washer fluid it may make it easier for me!

Any advice will be nice :)

That's not for the level sensor.
The level sensor is next to the washer pump. Behind the arch liner.
And not having DIS is a tell that you do not have washer level sensor.
It can be retrofitted because I've done on mine.
You'll need the sensor and there's a grommet where the sensor should be.
Then you'll need to wire it to the clock if you want it done properly.
If not you can just ground the pin 1 from the blue plug on the clock.

Never seen that before. What model? Don't think DIS is involved in washer level. This should show with other warning lights and as far as I know is connected near the bottom of the bottle. Is it more of a tube than a cable and where does it go to?

Cool, thought so! Was trying to look at images online of washer bottles with this tube thing but couldn't really figure it out!
May just bypass the washer level thing to be honest!

It is involved because you'll have the warning coming up on the dash. So it has to be connected to the sensor in order to get the warning on the dash.

b6 saloon "sport" (basically just the suspension and seats lol) not really sure where it goes, it goes down kind of below the tank, but without taking it out and what not I can't easily see without taking it out etc, if I get round to it I'll do it later

I think all of them as that tube.
I can't remember what it's for.

Bypassing is very easy.
Like I said, blue plug, need to add a wire there and the other end connected to a metal part and that's it.

Think I've answered my own question anyway, seems to be some sort of overflow pipe, apparently!
Where is this blue plug? is it under the instrument cluster?

Yeah. That's it.. Now that you said it rigs a bell..
No. The cluster has a blue plug in the left side and a green one on the right directly behind it.

Ideally you should take the steering wheel off for this.
But it can be done with it in place. Just tight.
I done it like that to be faster.

Cheers mate.
Little bit confused as to where the blue plug is still hahaha is there a picture somewhere, or do I just remove the lower dash panel thing and look up and I'll see it?

Now found it on my Sport. Its a tube which must allow air in when the tank is full to help the pump assuming the cap is a tight seal.It wouldn't bother me not to have a level sensor but mine has had full DIS fitted. The Sport seems to be a bit basic sometimes

Yeah, the sport is a bit of a funny one! I think the person who originally bought my car did a bit of pick and mix... Sport and S-Line but no DIS or Cruise control so who knows!

Cheers mate.

This is the back of the cluster.
And no need to remove the lower dash..
Just pull the steering wheel down and towards you.
Then pull the trim between the set of buttons on the cluster and there's 1 8mm bolt on each side.
Remove them and pull the cluster towards you..
It'll move enough for you to unplug the blue plug and add the wire to pin one and ground it..
Then put everything back and you won't have the warning light every time you start the car after coding the DIS.

Just to clarify it is an overflow, it goes down behind the wing and drains out near the front of the sideskirt

Cant see why it would need an overflow. How would it take in fluid once the cap is on?If the tank is airtight the pump would struggle

Just runs down here to nothing, don’t know why it would need an over flow surely you would notice when topping up, lol probably more for condensation? Or a breather pipe?

That pipe is to ged rid of gases that battery produces.
Should be a hole on the side of the battery for that pipe.

Ahh there is a hole on the side of the battery, die think it may have been for that too! I’ll make sure it’s in place tomorrow then (even though it hasn’t been in there for a while most likely hahaha
