Q5 Advice please!

Afternoon everyone,

Looking at test driving a 16 plate Q5 2.0 TFSI petrol this weekend as a replacement for my current A3 s line sport back. I was wondering if there are any known faults or issues with this year/ model/ or engine to be aware of. Any advice or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

There used to be a problem with oil consumption on the earlier 2.0 TFSI engines. Not sure if it is relevant on the later 16 plate Q5s. I suspect the problems were solved by this stage of the game. Somebody else with far superior knowledge on this one will be along soon to give you an update.

Thanks Peter123. I did see something on YouTube about oil consumption being an issue, however not sure if it has carried on from earlier models up to MY16. I don’t do a lot of miles hence me looking at the petrol variant instead of diesel.
