I have just come back from driving to the alps and back to the UK and did a little research before going out about lights.

Usually you might have to put sticky deflectors to stop the be dazzling other road users etc but everything suggested that the car would detect where is was using satnav and would adjust accordingly.

On the way back it was dark and in the main I didn’t seem to get any grief with cars/lorries on my side of the road using Auto full beam but on many occasions lorries would flash me! I assume to indicate I am dazzling them!

I stopped at services and couldn’t find anything on MMI again as I had looked previously so is it true they should auto adjust or are mine faulty.

When back using Chunnel the UK lorries were fine it seems...

They adjust automatically, same with the regular LED lights.

I occasionally get flashed in the UK, always by lorries and usually on the motorway or duel carriageways with a divider. I think it’s because the drivers sit high up, so can see you earlier, and their lights are not picked up by the camera as they are still below the guard rail at that point.

Still love my Matrix though :racer:

LED headlamps have a flat spread of light, hence there is no need to make any changes...

Hmm seems in France I had at least 20-25 in about 2-3 hours but in the UK I have had about 12 in 2 years... oh well back in UK now and all seems good.

In the dark if you point the car at a wall or garage door you should be able to see if the beam has a flat spread of light, I know Xenon lights do have a flat spread and would imagine LED would as well.
