Sorry guys as I’m sure it’s been asked before. I installed 2 led canbus error free bulbs for the number plate last Sunday on my 2010 S3 and it’s been fine however today when I’ve put car into drive an error bulb has appeared on the dash and I think it said number plate light. I’ve got out to have a look and the lights are on and seem fine. If I turn engine off and start it up again whilst it’s in park it’s fine but as soon as I put it into drive again the error bulb flags up on dash. Any ideas why error has appeared all of a sudden on dash?

Nice one thank you. I’ve plugged vcds in just to check for errors in 09 central elect which has brought a few up, one being the number plate bulb but before it finishes doing its search I get a comms error & I can’t even clear the codes :rage:

I think it’s quite a common error, I bought those bulbs on someone else’s recommendation, worth buying new bulbs just to not have the error on constantly

Get Audi A5 leds. I think I’ve listed the part number in my build thread. Some get errors, some don’t. You may still need to use VCDS to set the cold diagnostics for the leds.

This error could be the diagnostic plug connector, mine does this. I have to pull the plug horizontally to the right before it will connect and be careful not to touch it till I'm done scanning. I'm going to pull the tray it's mounted on and take a close look at it, i see some white deposits on my OBD connector which could be oxidation...
