I have an A4 Avant, 252 quattro with 19" original wheels and tyres (245/35/R19, 8.5J ET40).

I have set of winter wheels, still 19" but different offset and slightly wider tyres. Spec as follows -

255/35/R19
8.5J ET35

My understanding is these will push out 10mm compared to current setup. Is anyone running the same sizes and is there any issues? I expect the inside will be ok as the offset will cancel out the additional width on the inside but hoping there'll be no rub on the wheel arches.

I picked them up at a good price, wouldn't have been my first choice but for winters I thought they'd be ok.

According to www.willtheyfit.com, you'll only have them push out 5mm towards the arch and only see about 1% change in the speedo so they should be totally fine.

I have exactly the same same size alloys/tyres (245/35/R19 Summers) (255/35/R19 winters)

I was assured by the tyre fitter that the slightly wider winters would be absolutely fine. I used them from early December 2017 to March 2018 and they are back on again.

I've had no issues.

Can confirm that’ll work. Just checked my notes when I was doing the same. Not winter tyres though. 255/35/19 with that offset.

Just remember in the dry you will need more stopping time and especially when it’s 7 ° and above.

Winters stay supple. Take it easy especially while temps are not that cold now.

What tyres have you got on?

Thanks for your reply, that's reassuring.

They're Nokian WR A3. Not my first choice but I got 4 brand new wheels and tyres for a very good price so couldn't refuse!

I always fit winter wheels to my cars, first Audi though as always had BMW.

Just had the oil done at 11,500 miles and the front tyres are below the legal limit, rears aren't far off. Surprised they didn't last very long (P-Zero). Was going to put the winter wheels on tonight but just ordered 4 Goodyear F3's and using my wife's car until they arrive. Weather still a little mild at the moment but not far off.

Nokian are not well known in the UK but they are the king of winter tyres. They invented winter tyres if I’m not mistaken.

Can’t go wrong with those Goodyear’s. Should get better economy with them come summer.

Pzero is overrated.
