Stuttering after new EGR

Hi All,

I just replaced my EGR valve, upon going out for a test drive, the car stutters/hesitates at low revs. Anything below 2k and it'll hesitate upon gentle acceleration. If I plant my foot it sometimes stutters and sometimes doesn't. Turbo boosts perfectly fine, and there is minimal soot/smoke coming out of the exhaust. Another thing to note, is that the EML light is still on. I'll be able to reset this via ODB this afternoon.

Is this EGR faulty?

Update:
Scanned with ODB and I got just one fault P0406
I cleared the fault and the eml light cleared after driving around, the problem is still there but the eml light hasn't come back on.

I believe the new egr unit I have is cheap and doesn't work properly
