Hi all, has anyone had or know of a rebuilt propshaft? Could do with a recommendation in the South East if you have one.

Looking at £1200 + labour for a new one on my 3.0tdi cab, seems to be a pretty rare part even on fleabay. The guy spoken to at Audi parts dealer said he'd never sold one!? Currently on back order to top it off.

What’s wrong with it it’s only centre bearing that goes get a bearing off e bay I did mine last year cost me £55 and a few hrs labour make sure you mark how it splits they’ll be balanced and just check bearing and bracket dimensions think there was 4 to choose from on e bay mine was a 3.0 TDI

Unfortunately not, it's the gearbox end. Chap that diagnosed it spotted that this is the last of the B7 Cabs so has a DPF fitted and apparently shoe-horned in to the only place they could find which is directly beneath the prop, with no heat shielding, probably cooking the prop and all the grease in the joint each time it does a cycle.

Thanks Paul, might be a good enough excuse to do the DPF delete and remap next year .

Might be easier to find someone breaking a whole car and to get them to pull the part for you. As you say not a common failure, so not many listed individually.

Might also be worth contacting a company that refurbishes/repairs drive shafts. Main dealers general answer to anything they can't fix in house is 'buy a whole new part'.

Thanks. Yeah, I'll be keeping a keen eye out for cars being broken. I've found a local place doing refurbs but reviews are either 5 stars or scammer/avoid which doesn't fill me with confidence. The other places I've seen are haulage transmission specialists but some do racing/classic stuff so I'll give those a call.
