Hi All.

Will I purchased what is supposedly the best 4K tv (LG OLED 55B7) on the market the other month and I am looking for a decent 4K Player to accompany it.

The Panasonic UB900 seems to have been the player of choice but it’s abit last its sell by date (released 2016) and doesn’t have the latest Dolby Vision. The replacement is out at the end of the year (UB9000) and will be priced at the ridiculous price of £999.

The Oppo 205 is highly rated but is a tad expensive at £650-700.

The latest and current range topper from Panasonic (UB820) has just been released but there are no reviews on it so far and it is currently only available from Panasonic Direct at £399. It does include the latest tech including HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Can anybody recommend any 4K players or offer some advice as to which will compliment my TV best?

Go with the Oppo. Over at the audio video forums I frequent Oppo seem to be the number one. Personally I play 4k material from my PC to my Panasonic TV ( 65"DX902) and it looks flawless.

I’ve had the pleasure of testing most of these machines. Without doubt the Oppo is the best, grab one while you still can as Oppo have now stopped production. Still plenty of the UDP203’s about. Apparently they are concentrating on mobile phones now. Looks great on the B7 too!

What about the Xbox one X, the visuals are good, I'm not a home cinema buff however I've been well impressed with it.

I ended up going for the new Panasonic ub820. It has pretty much the same spec as the Oppo, was cheaper and apparently, according to reviews, gives a better picture than the Oppo.
