Seen a few R36 passat's recently and they looked rather nice , not as nice as my old bus but nice all the same.
Anyway since the rs4 is still illuding me and a deffinate lack of a B8 s4 in my area , has anyone owned or tried one and if so what year model was /is it, kinda fancy getting one having seen one in a great shade of blue.....
not really sure on the levels of spec though and if they are actually any good.

and feedback would be good.

I had the saloon in biscay blue. It's no RS4 but it is a really nice car and turned heads everywhere, the V6 is sublime.
They were all made around the same time in 2008 but if your lucky you can find a late registered one on a 10 plate like mine was.
Spec wise they come pretty well fully loaded and have the best seats I've ever sat in.
They also hold there value extremely well. I bought mine from a main dealer and sold it private a year later for exactly the same.
I'd have kept mine longer but the wife found it too big:wtf:

thanks for the reply, I have just been having a look on youtube , those seats look brill and to be honest seats will make or break a car purchase for me, if they don't suit me then its not a car for me.....one need to be in the right seat and be comfy too or it s curtains, that engine sound wicked too.....

Very few estates around from my searching last night, 1 in Yorkshire with 90k miles on it in silver and don't really want silver cars anymore, black or blue really.
Seems like I may be back to Rs4 B7 searching then , shame as I really took a shine to a r36...….

If you really want a car you'll travel, must of been the equivalent of going to the moon and back with the distance I've travelled for car's, car part's and tuning.

I've done with travelling long distances to look at cars even good ones, been there , done it for too long now.....

To start with low milage , sub 50k if possible , ideally 30-40k , ideally rs4 b7 of the right spec but cant find one that ticks the boxes, same with a B8 S4 , hoped to have found an R36 that ticked the boxes but just none to be found …..bummer or what.

price wise upto £20k for one of the above of the right milage and spec.

20k is plenty for what you want (or close to it, you haven't been very specific on what exactly the car needs other than nice seats), you don't want the RS4, S4 or Passat enough else you'd have one by now, need to make up your mind first then pull the trigger, travel more than 5 miles if you need to :friends:

Don't want to drive 200miles to see a 5+ owner 90k r36, and the same applies to RS4 and S4's in that I don't want a multi previous owner car, 1 or 2 at most with no more than 40k ish miles , and with the right spec.
Lost out on a perfect RS4 3 months ago and nothing else has come close and I've looked at a lot all over the shop , and a lot were right old tat....
I expect i'll find it at some point, but i'm not driving stupid distance to see a poor example that has been badly advertised.

... So you want a 10+ year old 1 owner car with 30k on the clock located a stone's throw away from the middle of nowhere... I can see why this isn't happening.

That and you clearly haven't made your mind up what you want.

exactly , I don't mind driving to see the right car , but so far that's not occurred , just loads of wasted trips and fuel.
they are around just never when I want one, if sellers were honest about their cars in the adverts to start with or dealers wer'nt doing misleading private sale adverts then things would be easier.
It's my hard earned cash so I want to ensure I get the right example or it is just a waste of time.

When I bought my A6 the garage had one listed forcsale. Thevfurst thing I asked when I got there was could I have a look. Never seen one in the flesh.

Unfortunately it had sold the day before!

Grinds my teeth went to go look at a d2 a8 a year ago looked alright in pics says there's no problems over the phone went there to see water leaking left right and centre
Then went on a search for a d3 s8 seen one but he claimed 610 bhp without forced induction just a map:blahblah1::tearsofjoy:

Know what you mean with stuff like that, every Audi Facebook group has car's with just a map done by some backyard garage with no print out supposedly running double the horsepower. Get the same silly stuff on other selling sites, sellers are shooting themselves in the foot as people in the know avoid them like the plague, when I sold my Starlet GT Turbo people were asking for estimated bhp figures to which I gave a realistic estimate and it was sold the day after putting it up for sale.

Yh you can't get 610 from that engine with just a map we where having a rob on the phone he didn't know his **** from his elbow
Just a few days ago a d3 a8 4.2 on log popped up said good engine good gearbox good turbo so I texted him went with the flow and then dropped it what turbo he said its still fast lol

Lovely car that! Problem is it has more than 1 owner, more than 40k miles and is probably more than a couple miles away... and when I say problem that's no problem for me, infact it's exactly what I would expect and wouldn't mind.

Your missing the point still …..

I've been given the details of one coming up for sale shortly in devon , sounds a real peach but until I have seen it I wont count my chickens......but he's given me first dibs before it goes up for general sale, maybe my luck is changing for the better now....
