So my headlight bulb went out this morning, ive a 2002 facelift with what i presume are xenon?

The bulbs that are in are not particularly bright, i think they may hsve also been changed at some point, i want some bulbs that are nice and bright, these are more blue

Ive searched some threads on here and google and it all gets a little confusing with k's and numbers and so forth, i just wanna go into halfords today or euro parts and walk out with some bright bulbs, any links or advice is more than welcone

Sorry in advance if this is a real newb or argument causing thread lol

They are D2S xenons you need. The lower the “k” number the brighter the bulb. As the number increases the more yellow is in the light (something to do with heat given off, I think the k stands for kelvin a measurement of temperature) I believe the brightest you can can get is 4300k. 6000k-8000k are more blue but less bright. However the s3’s projectors are pwp anyway, so won’t be very bright.

Im assuming you have an S3 btw.

If you go Halfords try borrow a trade card to half the price of replacements
There quite expensive

Thanks for the replies, it came back on when i drove home, it was on this morning on my way to work, stopped at the garage and it came back on then, but ice washed my car then went to put the lights back on and its gone off, im going to strip the engine covers off tomorrow and take a look, its either getting wet or something is happening when the bulb is hot possibly

And yes its an s3

Chances are it’s just the bulb on its way out. Mine was on and for a while before it gave up the ghost.
