after a few test drives, i have decided that my next car will be a s3 saloon.
i have got some quotes from various brokers ( DTD, C2C, carfile, Carwow).

The best discounts at the moment are DTD /C2C (11%), and as my local dealers do not see interested in offering any discount, i will be ordering via one of these brokers.

Now as i live in the north east, i was wondering which dealers these brokers usually deal with? Do i get a choice which area? I have never used a broker before, and while i have no problems traveling to pick up the car, i do not fancy a trip of 300miles to pick it up. Although the drive home would be a good opportunity to get familiar.
Any experience shared would be a appreciated.

DTD, could be anywhere in the country. Usually good service.

C2C, not sure.

Car file, i think maybe Coventry. I nearly used them as was very good at communicating and was the cheapest at the time.

Carwow, usually 6 dealers pretty local to you, but deals can be lower. I know my local dealer at Huntingdon tried to put another £300 carwow fee to the total, this is not the case from carlow. He didn't get my sale, sleepy schmuck.

C2C used a dealer a little bit south of London when I was looking at getting an S3.

Gordon mentioned getting a cheap flight to London about £60 from Newcastle then I think you could get the tub or a train close to the dealership.

They can also deliver it to you, which is included in the price but it's not on a transporter it's someone driving it up.

Coulsdon? That's where I got a quote, then a local dealer beat matched it

I'm not sure if Coast to Coast have more than one Audi dealer on the books or not? I ordered mine through them and it was Coulsdon. Fortunately for me this is quite nearby

Thanks for all the replies.
looking at a few broker quotes, Broadspeed seem to be a little cheaper.
Has anyone any experience of using Broadspeed?

Broad speed are on of the original brokers, haven't used them, as usually there discount on Audis was Meh.

I used Broadspeed back in 2006 for a Renault Clio (for my wife). The Broadspeed bit was OK - super keen and efficient- but when matters were passed over to the dealer, it slowed down painfully. Delivery was going to be next week, oh no sorry week after, and then the week after that. We got very fed up with the prevarication until eventually the car did arrive. I can't remember whether we knew at the time, but when the car did arrive it had been registered in the name of a company and then the change of registered keeper to my wife, so it was in effect a pre- reg car.

I used DTD to buy a Golf many years ago. The supplying dealer was literally at the other end of the country to me. However, both DTD and the dealer were very helpful and the car was delivered on a transporter.

That policy has changed now:

"3.0 New Vehicle Pricing
We list UK-Supplied New Vehicles - meaning Brand New and First Keeper (so the V5C is in Your Name from the first day of registration - not Pre-Registered). All New Vehicles have a normal UK Manufacturer’s Warranty (we do not advertise grey or parallel imports)."

It's coming back to me now. The car, when eventually delivered, had no V5C. Wife was told after a bit of humming and hawing it would follow in due course. After several weeks and a number of reminders the document duly arrived and it was at that point we could see that she was not the first owner. I don't remember being told that the car would be new and not pre-registered, but we certainly had that impression.

It transpired that the pre-reg status was of no consequence when she traded the Clio for her current car. It had covered a low mileage and was in good clean condition and the favourable trade-in price was a key factor in deciding to buy the replacement. Within what seemed like days we saw the Clio being driven around locally so somebody else also saw the car for what it was and snapped it up.

I guess broadspeed amended that policy as they were breaking the law and were in breach of Section 43C of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 which is a criminal offence. DrivetheDeal make reference to this and that they prosecuted a competitor of theirs for offering to sell their customers pre-registered cars and failing to warn their customers of the risk of them being criminal prosecuted and the insurance and other financial disadvantages. I wonder if that was broadspeed...

The "not giving you the v5" idiot brokers didn't know what to do if you wrote the car off and your insurance company asked for it so they could pay you out :)
I believe (hope) they aren't still doing that nonsense!

Well... if you read mine you would see that I was talking about brokers in general, not specifically the ones you quoted.
