Hi all, i have my MOT next week, and not sure on weather or not it will pass, basically the lcd cluster has completely died so technically no possible warning symbols can be displayed and the ABS back light is very faint, but you can see that it goes out like its meant to.

Will any of this fail the MOT?

I don't think so as you have warnings symbols imbedded within the rev counter or speedo - can't remember which, might be both actually, that will highlight a system fault.

It's a very common problem on the b5's that the DIS display is missing pixels.

There is no issue with the screen for the MOT, any additional warnings on the screen are irrelevant and you can only fail if the warning lights are showing a fault.

Well good news, my car failed lol. Only on tyres and Track rod. He did mention that the abs light was very dim.... Me thinks i will send it in for repair.

Cheers for the info guys

Aragorn, how much do you think i would be looking at to have the data and immobilizer stuff transfered over with vag com
