Hi all,

I'm looking to get a new wax to go over my newly acquired jetseal 109, does anyone have any favourites or recommendations?

Thanks

Radford212

If it's a dark car I swear by Poor Boys Black hole glaze sealed with Dodo Juice purple haze. Awesome results and easy to work with.

I've moved away from waxes to sealants since I've had my A3. I know wax gives you that gloss/glass look but love the ease of spray and wipe. If you are interested CarPro Reload or CarPlan No1 Gloss are two of my favourites.

Well I recently used Liquid Crystal on it over black light (February time roughly) and it's still beading but I recently bought Jetseal 109 and I want to put that over the black light when I get round to giving it a good going over when the weather is a bit better. I've read that it's benifical to top it up with a wax or sealant so I also got the CG V07 QD to go over it but I'm a bit sceptical about the V07's durability.
Just wondering what would be best to enhance to durability of Jetseal. I'm still new to this and chose Jetseal because it's easy to apply and I'm staying away from ceramic coatings for the time being through fear of messing it up.

Ceramics are pretty straightforward to use, it's the prep you need to get right as they must go on bare paint. So it's a strip back to clearcoat, correct any issues then apply. I've got Cquartz UK to go on my next car. It's easy to put on. Plenty tutorials kicking about. I'm not up to date on my waxes. @Bristle Hound us your man.

Agreed. Mines booked for a detail and UNC-R ultra coat in a couple of weeks

@Radford212 - Where to start
First off its got to be your budget
You can spend sensible money to silly money

My current fave wax is Obsession Wax Evolution 2

BUT I have also have a new pot of Obsession Wax Phantom to use yet

Detailing and product selection are VERY subjective
So many waxes so little time lol

@Bristle Hound, I don't want to spend silly money but I'm aware to get a reasonably good product, you've got to pay a bit for it. I'm assuming it must be a good wax if it's currently your favourite lol. How's it holding up on your S4?

Big favourite of mine is harly wax, stupidly easy to use and longevity of it is very very good. Citca £23 per tin I like to pop it on top of a good sealant like finishkare polymer sealant.

So I've been looking to order a wax in the last couple of days and I've been leaning towards ordering the Obsession Wax Evo 2 that @Bristle Hound recommended, before I do though I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience of any Swissvax waxes? I've been looking at Swissvax Onyx. This will be my wax for a good while so I'd like to get a 'premium' wax.

I use dodo juice 'super natural' wax which lasts ages but after Godzilla did a massive dump on my car and left some nice etching that took forever to get out. (wish I didn't buy black) I may change to something else

But someone on another forum says he uses Fusso99 and poop never leaves any marks on his black car

bilt hamber double speed wax do a really glossy wax and its gbp 16 on amazon. dont let that price put you off. I also like definitive waxes, cora is well priced gbp50 for 200ml that will last some time.

what colour do you have? some concours waxes give good results with certain colours.

I,ve tried out quite a few waxes over the years, but i,ve just brought soft99 authentic so far i must say i,m very impressed. Easy to use the gloss is fantastic and water just runs straight off, i,ve also got fusso but yet to try it. I can highly recommend the authentic tho.

Well after speaking to Jay from Obsession Wax the other day, I ordered a pot of the limited edition Phantom he's making. The Si02 infused Phantom. He said Phantom would be best for black.

He was more than helpful with any questions I had, going through a range of his waxes strengths. Now I just gotta wait for it to turn up.

@Radford212 - Ohh Phantom with added Si02 sounds interesting

Agree with your comments. Jay is a top bloke

I was umming and ahhhing about what to do, I was on the website a lot in the last week deciding what to do. Then I saw that he was offering the limited edition one for same price as the standard. The thing was I didn't know what the Si02 was. So I used mans best friend in these situations.. GOOGLE  after finding out what it was I then proceeded to email Jay and ask if he could customise this wax for me which he said was no problem. So I placed my order for it to be made bright purple with a bubblegum scent... :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
Really excited to see what it's like when it turns up!
