S3 2007 Black Grill

Hi all, currently have a 2007 S3...I'd like to change the grill to be all black (apart from the badges)...is there a black grill I can just order and bolt on/off? As far as I'm aware the black edition is a facelift grill and won't fit my prefacelift?

There was a Black optics for the 2007-2008.

Part Numbers are the same between the 2 there is just a black option to pick if you order one. Part number is 8P0 853 651. I'm sure if you used the Parts Request function, Mike (mrj901) could verify that it's the correct part and sort one out for you.

Perfect thanks, for reference the black grill part number incl color code is

8P0853651A 3FZ

So is the standard prefacelift S3 grills part number 8p0853651?

I put that in eBay and we're getting A3 listed just want to make sure before I order one.
Will any grill with that number fit?
Want to get a cheap one to make an RS3 style grill so just need to make sure will fit.

Not sure if you've considered it, but its much easier to spray your existing one if you are just looking for the black version, to fit the new grill you would have to remove the bumper and getting the grills out can be a pain also!

I looked into the same thing, and its quite costly.

I think if you paint then the stone chips can look pretty bad so was going to go either fit RS3 grille or just stay standard. Not sure.

I had thought the same, but ive read quite a few people have used plastidip, which resists stone chips as its a rubberised paint.

And it just peels off so you don't need to remove the bumper etc. if you search the forum there's some good guide.

Agreed. I used plastidip and have had no issues, was an easy and dirt cheap mod. I didn't even unbolt it, just taped around it.
