Blower motor randomly turning off

Hey Guys,

Got a bit of a random one, my blower motor suddenly turns off every now and then, it comes back on when I fiddle with some buttons but an example was today, I took the roof down so heating set on High and full blast, it just died. All controls lit up but no air flow. Turned the CC off and back on, blower whizzed into action.

Perhaps a control unit?

More likely worn brushes in the fan motor. Failure generally starts with intermittent operation, sometimes when you hit a bump, turn a corner etc. It'll eventually stop working altogether.

My Passat used to do that quite often, no ryhme nor reason to it, still works.

cheers both, only happened twice and both whilst on full blast, could be a bush problem but I guess I'll leave it until it dies, then investigate, it's only a blower and not my brake pads haha
