I'm sure this has been covered before, but made the mistake of getting an insurance policy for my S3 with AdrianFlux after phoning for a quote when my renewal came up. Got a decent quote and agreed with the sales person to go for it under the condition that I could cancel the policy and get my money back if I found a better quote in the next 14 days.
Well I did with Sky Insurance, who where my insurer. Went to speak to AdrianFlux, who said that sure, you can cancel, but we're keeping our commission so here is your money back, minus 160 quid! I was so tempted to cancel out of spite, but then they'd be getting a significant chunk of my money for doing absolutely nothing, so had to keep my AF policy.
I know, Ts and Cs and all that, but that is not what I was led to believe during the sales call. Had the sales person said that you can cancel later, but we'd be keeping 160 quid based on the price, I'd taken the quote and phoned back later if I wanted to go for it. It's the same as saying that you can cancel if you have 160 quid to throw away.
I doubt that my relationship with AF will last when this policy comes up for renewal... This is not how your first customer service experience should go. Can't help but feel very bitter about the whole thing.
Moral of the story is: get quotes from insurers and never fall for the sales pitch until you have quotes from the insurers you wanted to speak to before paying.
