My local fox has decided to up the ante from scratching my paintwork to chewing my sat nav aerial. It's still working, but looks pretty awful. Looking on the parts database link from this forum it unfortunately seems to be an all in one unit rather than having a cover. Has anyone had to replace one of these before; I am curious to know what sort of cost I am looking at (doubtless a lot!).

There are many different combinations of antenna depending on equipment fitted to your car, you'd be best getting one from your local dealer as the part required will be matched to your VIN.

More than likely it will come unpainted, with a GRU part number ending.

Big job to replace :( Headlining needs to be removed for access and a heat gun needs to be used to un-bond the aerial from the roof. New one will need to be painted and then bonded to the roof.

Ouch, that sounds even worse than I was expecting. I think the cost of all that work will be disproportionate to the value of a three year old car. I might look into just getting the aerial resprayed instead, which I doubt will hide the damage completely but should make it a lot less noticeable.

You might want to re-cycle one your old iPhones and use it as a motion detecting cctv camera. Use the 'manything' app and set the detection zones for Basils little haunts and it'll let you know as soon as it spots him. Then you **** the little git with one of these;

Lol. I have ordered an ultrasonic deterrent and some gel that they apparently don't like the smell of, so fingers crossed. A small consolation is it's not just me, many of the cars in our parking area have fox paw prints on them.
