Hi, as some of you will now I had an 'altercation' with my A3 and I want to, after it's repaired, sell it on. I have got a local dealer to accept my car even though it is worth less than the settlement figure without me having to top it up. They've done this by offsetting the cost of the new one.
Below is the specs and the deal so all your opinions would be gratefully received, but I am fairly happy with the figures and may well purchase the car outright after 36 months:

RRP: 37,765.00 GBP ROTR Price: 38,450.00 GBP
A4 Saloon
S line 2.0 TFSI S tronic
Exterior:
Matador red, metallic.
Interior:
Material: Sprint cloth/leather with S embossed logo on front seat backrests seat: Black dashboard: Black carpet: Black headlining: Black

Options:
Advanced key with electric hands-free boot opening system.
Audi Virtual Cockpit
Door mirrors - electrically folding, adjustable and heated.
Driver Assistance Pack - Tour including:
Flat bottomed 3-spoke leather trimmed high multi-function steering wheel with chrome clip (and paddles for automatic transmissions)
Inlays Piano finish, black.
Light & Vision Pack
Privacy glass (side and rear windows) and Acoustic glass (front side windows).
Rear-view camera.
Storage Pack.
Technology Pack.
Heated Front Windscreen.

Quote:
Duration 36 monthly payments of £335.28
Deposit £10,50(£8000 of mine £2500 deposit contribution)
Retail cash price £35,400.55
Optional final payment £15,176.25

You'll love the engine. Matador red is unusual so it will be interesting to see pics if you proceed.

I've never bought other than by HP or cash, so wouldn't know about the figures. I hope you'll go ahead as I have valued your contributions to the A3 forum.

Nice! Awesome spec and price, similar to what I have ordered with only the options slightly different. I went with the diamond cut alloys as they seem to suit the red!

Nice, I have the diamond cut alloys on my a3 but I wouldn't have them again as they're more costly to repair and the laquer seems to scratch easily..

Sounds like it will be one hell of a car! A lot of fun toys to play with.

Currently driving both a 1.4 TFSI A3 and a 190 Stronic A4. A4 is just in a different league. It's smoother, quieter and just does it all well! Good luck with the order.

Thanks, I will be putting my deposit on the car this week although there is still a question mark over the heated screen..

Heated screen and trailer pack have both just disappeared off the latest a4 brochure

You are already talking to someone who has extensive knowledge of internet brokers and the use of such and the deal I have commenced through carwow anyway. Thanks for the link though...

No problem, it's free to use and you never know it might give you a better quote.... we have just started this and in some cases we have got better discounts as well as some exclusive offers coming as all we are offering is Audi.

We are working with the dealerships directly and hope to be able to bring some other discounts systems for members just like the parts request system.

Look forward to hearing about the new car when you have it and I guess we will have to give you a little more space on you signature so that you can add all the options :)

It is a very useful tool to have as many people haven't the confidence in themselves to negotiate directly with a dealership. I am sure many will appreciate it...

I found it useful negotiating directly between two dealers. Managed to save myself £45 a month on finance payments.

@cuke2u the expression 'Like a kid in a sweet shop' springs to mind with all those options :)

Enjoy the wait, Im sure you will enjoy the car when it comes

Kid, yep, watching all the youtube videos, especially ones on the driver assistance systems. I have had a few cars in my time but this one, being a techie, gets my juices flowing.
Paperwork has commenced, deposit will be paid tomorrow then it's the long wait...

Assuming everything goes to plan I should be putting my order in tomorrow as well

A3 Saloon just didn't work out in terms of size and practicality and got a good deal on changing over to the A4 Avant. Here's my spec:

Audi A4 2.0 TFSi 190ps S-Line S-tronic Avant
Daytona Grey
Extended LED Interior Light Pack
Storage Pack
Electric Folding Door Mirrors
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
Hill hold
18 inch 5 Spoke Dynamic Alloy Wheels
Rear View Camera
Towing Equipment
Privacy Glass
Inlays Piano finish, black.

Don't get me wrong, I like my A3, I think it is far better proportioned than the A4 saloon. But I was looking at trading it in next year anyway and only the 'incident' with a taxi has brought things forward. Pound for pound the A4 is far better value for money as the discounts are higher and for the finance APR is also lower, plus you get more options on the A4 for your money.
I am ending up with paying less per month than for my current A3 over a shorter time period with a hell of lot more options added. As far as I am concerned it is a win win situation...

Agree with you cuke on the value for money point. I've said several times (and possibly on here too) if you were to spec up an A3 with all the goodies you get on an A4 s line, there wouldn't be a great deal of difference in the price. I think the dealer's margin must also be higher on what is a higher value car as I didn't have to negotiate very hard to get just under 10% discount on the A4 and a good trade in on the A3. Happy days all round!

There is a £2500 deposit contribution for a start if you take their finance, always helps.
Paid my deposit, finance has been accepted, just need to make sure they order the correct options and the wait begins...

Cheers, should be used to the wait, this being our 6th new car, but with each one it's the same. Watching the videos, reading the manuals, trying to find any technical documents I can and reviews, loads of reviews ;-)

I started reading the owners manual online towards the date mine arrived. I had no more youtube videos to watch!

Self confessed geek, I always get hold of a manual before I have the car, television, anything, if I can...

Well I have my answer to my question as to the availability of the heated front screen, this is from Audi UK Customer Services:

"Thank you for your recent contact to Audi UK. I am delighted to hear of your interest in the Audi A4.
I have spoken to our Product Support Team who have advised that the Audi A4 models are not available with the heated windscreen
feature. We are hoping this feature will be available later this year, however we do not have a confirmed date at this present
time. I am sincerely sorry for any disappointment this may cause."

So, depending upon my build date I may, or may not, have it....

Hmm I wonder if it will be October / November time when it will have its 1yr Anniversary?

It seems we loose out on a fair bit compared with other markets!

Have other markets already got the heated windscreen, possibly you might find cars in the uk have options those in other countries do not as well..
