Scenario:

Brake very hard to a stop --> Accelerate relatively quickly

During the acceleration following a hard stop, I always hear some sort of clicking noise that seems to come from underneath the seat. Is this normal? Is this the seat or is there some other mechanical part loose? This is quite reproducible and I don't hear that noise otherwise.

Thanks.

Is this not the brakes cooling down...after you've almost ****** them....the noise that usually follows on from doing so...is a pinking noise...for lack of a better word....

It is probably not because braking and then staying still leads to no sound. However, braking and then switching to acceleration quickly results in the clicking noise. I don't know if it is from the seat or the chassis itself (or whatever component is underneath the seat).

Scenarios:

Hard braking (clicking noise) --> quick acceleration (clicking noise)

Hard braking (clicking noise) ---> slow acceleration (no noise) --> hard braking (no noise) --> quick acceleration (clicking noise) --> hard braking (clicking noise)

Based on the observations, it is as if something loose is moving back and forth, given the abrupt stopping and forward movements. Is it normal for a car to do this or is something loose or broken?

Why not book the car in...to have a tech look at it?

As jassy says..Clearly you can make this noise appear any time so just take it to the dealers and get a techie to go with you on a test drive...:friends:

No one has this experience? :blue:
I have had a similar thing recently after braking hard to avoid a deer, although i didn't accelerate hard after. I had to pull over and check the foot wells and boot liner as it sounded like a marble rolling around and bumping into things as i changed direction and accelerated/braked, but found nothing! then after about 15 mins all of a sudden it disappeared as if whatever was rolling around had got lodged or fallen out. i haven't got a clue what it could be as the car was also completely empty besides myself (before anyone says it nothing had fallen out of pockets!)

I too get this, it's infrequent and often happens with give it death braking. I cant suss it out at all.
