My overdue progress/picture thread: Now with Sprint Blue S3 content

My car since coming off Revo and going with APR is just way more performance orientated! Just wish I had gone APR to start with to save money :-(

After reading your thread and seeing the wheels, this happened... Before anyone comments, the AP coilovers are yet to move from my bedroom to the car.

Hows it going with this mate? Just enjoying it?

Trying to yeah, seems to be falling apart every now and then. Had the drivers side window regulator break the other day so had that fixed.

Needs a good clean and wax, and an oil change but other than that it's ok.

Was looking at changing it at some point but can't decide on what so just end up keeping it, can't complain about this amount of power but still be fairly economical with cheapish tax compared to other motors.

How's yours?

That's on its way out on mine as well funnily enough! Yea I think once your at the stage 2+ you really struggle to find another car on the market with that power/fuel economy & the insurance/tax prices. Its not looking like ill be at that power this year but hopefully next year.

Mines ok its been off the road for a few months it needed some work & then I wanted to get a few extras done on it before spring I'm off to the ring again in April so I've changed a few parts brakes/suspension/wheels. Ill update my thread when its all done and back on the road I hope its worth it!

Nice one bud, will look the same as my old a3. You won't be disappointed with the AP's, still using the same set that I purchased years ago.

Hope so, I can't wait to get them on now. A couple of friends have got JOMs and they don't have any complaints but I've heard some pretty good reviews about the AP's.

Could I just ask, what size are your wheels and have you still got the helpers in?

I've had quite a lot of interest in how I fitted the clamp to my BCS powervalve so just adding this so people can give it a go in future. There's pics a few pages back of the clamp.

Tools that are needed are a bit of wood to keep open the valve while you fit the clamp, ideally an engineers rule and a long Allen key with a ball on the end to get into the tight space.

The wood I used was 1 inch square by around 2 feet long.

Pull the actuator arm down towards the floor to open the valve then I used the wood to open the valve as much as possible, then loosely fitted the clamp around the actuator arm, I then measured 2 inches from the bottom of the clamp to the bottom of the actuator arm and then tightened up the clamp. Finally pulling down on the actuator arm again and removing the wood from the exhaust.

Lovely looking motor, cant beat a clean & well looked after car.

Continuing from your exhaust mod, I believe alot of newer BMW's do this, as my dads 235i has had the same mod and sounds pretty beast on idle! Mind you, he's getting a bit old for all that jazz by now!!
