gave the car a quick wash with a pressure washer whilst drying off noticed some flaking is this just the clear coat as can't get car to a paint shop till middle of next week for a look so has anyone else had paint problems in the same area of the car ?? Or any that's a paint pro

Mine has areas of clear coat missing from around the door handles, around the door rub strips and on one edge of the rear door.

I didn't really notice them when I bought the car but pretty disappointing. I doubt Audi would be willing to help out with sorting it.

If you can be 100 percent sure that it hasn't been sprayed anyware and you have genuine Audi service then that's Gona be a warranty claim and you should win that one no problem pop in too your nearest Audi...
manager comes out with a paint tester digital the thing bleeps it tells him the paint thickness will be even all over if it's a genuine paint job still!

it only has part audi service part independent i did look at what it said in the audi warranty and could only find about rust nothing about out side paint work it still might be worth a go i guess all they can say is no and it wont cost me anything.
it only in that top area no where else going down.

dose it look like mine as if it is just the clear cost coming off ?

Very similar.

Right now I'm not too bothered about it. I am disappointed though but concentrating more on the mechanics of the car.

It's probably something I'll look into sorting in the future.

Had similar scenario on a peugeot, paid for independant to come out and he measured paint and told me the car had been resprayed. I owned the pile of shiite from new so knew 10 gazillion percent was ********. They would not have it!!!!

I had a kingfisher blue 1.8t many years ago found a tiny spot on rear arch bubbling out from inside no rust paint still there ect Audi warranted the repair after confirming that paint job was original.

Second car was Audi s3 had same problem went too Audi confirmed paint was original then said that they wouldn't warranty the repair as it was stone chips bla bla bla pot luck really! Pxxxx me right off !

The thing is many brand new cars have had paintwork done on them before they even get in the showroom, they get damaged on the transporters & being moved around in holding compounds, dealerships like Audi & others just farm them out to a local repair shop, I've seen many unregistered cars being repaired in the bodyshop next to my unit.

Very true but they should complete the work and stamp the book too say it had the work..then the warranty isn't void! As long as it's Audi approved paint shop, but no confirmation in service book and no stamp it's thecustomers who suffer I'd be absolutely gutted buying a brand new car that's had a repair job

There not going to stamp the book before a new customer buys the car are they, i could tell you stories about new cars that would make your hair curl.

well theres a audi garage 10mins from me so will pop in on monday and see what response i get im guess ill be told to do 1 as it doesnt have fulll audi history.

So went to my local audi and as i expected was told nothing they can do as they said paint is only 3years and as its not started to rust it wont be covered under the 12 year warranty.
