Hi,

Does anyone anyone know which module in VCDS I go to to test the output of the rear boot/trunk light and which option would I have to select from the drop down before I start the test?

Any help would be really appreciated!

Boot light is given power by the Central electronic module 09 but there is no output test to turn it on what problem are you having with it??

I thought there would be since you can test pretty much all the other lightings on the car from the output test option?

The issue I'm getting is my cars trunk came with standard halogen bulb and the connector to the light housing was something like this:

And so I changed it to the connector used for the footwell lights which looks like this:

Now the new led light I fitted (OEM light used for the foot well) doesn't seem to be working. So I want to see if the soldering I did to change the connector was done correctly.

Led bulbs only work one way so try flipping it around

this led bulb is the one from the original footwell so only has one was of insert

My car has leds everywhere from the interior to parking lights which are meant to be canbus but i got a feeling they are causing some errors. I also activated CH/LH lights: LH doesnt work and coming home only wants to work when it wants to. Not only that every time I put the car in ignition 1, my parking lights and footwell lights flash like in the same motion as police sirens.

I had he same issue with my LED's, constantly flashed and dimmed when I turned the car off but never fully went off. Bought interior LED kit from @t8ups and all is resolved.
As for the connector - What made you change it? The LED should of fitted into the original boot bulb holster.
I also had issues with the boot light, have you tried wiring it in closing all the doors lock it, unlock it then open the boot to see if it works? I spent a while trying to get mine to work until i realised maybe I had to reset everything as the can bus would still think there is no bulb, did the above and everything worked perfectly.

LED's that flash had always worried me in the car but @t8ups LED kit is a good price for how much work he puts into it, I'd definitely give him a message.

Thanks buddy. I think the flashing only started to occur when I fitted the puddle lights that have the Audi logo on them just a month ago. Trups lights are quality, I bought footwell LEDs from him and never regretted it. My interior LEDs iv never had an issue with them and iv had them in the car just over 2 years now.

But I'm glad someone else has had the same issue before because now I'm certain its one of the bulbs - most likely the puddle lights. Im gonna deactivate the puddle lights via vcds and see if the flashing stops but if not order the led from trups.

I decided to change the connector for the trunk light because the original light housing looked like this:

And so I couldn't fit trups super bright 8 LEDs into that because of the metal housing it had in it so I soldered on the small connectors which connect to the same light housing you use for the foot well lights. Now since iv already done the soldering I wanna see if the connection is still good by doing an output test if that makes sense?

Yeah thats the original halogen bulb and was still working. This weekend I'm going to disable the puddle lights and see if the new trunk light housing I fitted works, if it doesn't I'm gonna revert back to the original (one in the picture) and get the LEDs that fit into this housing, ones I spoke about before from you

Get a multi meter they cost a few pounds and will check this in seconds

That housing fits the leds's that t8ups supplies just (if I have the same bulb) by bending the metal up sliding the led in then bend it back but make sure you put something on the back of the led incase the metal touches it.

Also my boot light & number plate light completely stopped working until I had changed out all the eBay leds.

It took me a good hour trying to get them to work then once I changed everything and reset the power to the bulbs by locking it up it was fine.

Try and swap out the dodgy lights or turn them off, check power is going to the connection itself then check the bulb holder.

Hope you get it sorted soon

Thanks Chris,

What I'm gonna do it replace all the LEDs with halogen bulbs. If the boot trunk light works then I'm gonna buy the interior light pack from trups. For now iv deactivated my LH lights because I'm worried the random light flash can cause some damage to the car.
