First drive (S3 S/B) in the rain since I got the car last week - dreadful wiper judder particularly on driver's side wiper :rage: The windscreen has been treated with Gtechniq G5 but so have all our other cars and we never experienced any issues so I am confident that's not the cause.

Anyone else had this issue ?

Maybe, but clean the screen anyway with a diluted white vinegar just to see..

Mine is absolutely horrendous for this! I have got rain ex on my glass as I used the gtech kit on my last car and hated it so needed to try something different...

But I suspect my issue may be quick detailer over spray on the drivers side as the rest of the glass is perfect.

Try cleaning the glass on the affected area. A diluted spirit, vinegar, ap wipe etc and also on the wiper itself. And try again.

I'll be doing this myself at some point but I don't use the car much.

The Gtechniq G5 has just answered your question... It's shocking for wiper judder. I've given it numerous goes on 3 different cars and it always judders!! There's a lot of wiper judder talk over on detailing world. but as @cuke2u says, try and clean the wiper blades with vinegar and you could always clay the windscreen

Hope you are right Martin ! I don't really want to remove the G5 to resolve the issue. Will put up with it for now and see if it settles. Thanks for all replies guys.

Both my S3's have had wiper judder.
Never had this before on any of my cars, but these A3's seem to be very grippy.
No sealant used on my glass.
Just normal polish.
Drives me mad.
Going to Audi soon to see if they can adjust the arms.

I am pretty new to the Gtechniq range and have only been using it since the beginning of this year. I have used Rain-X in all sorts of cars and the judder is always bad for VAG cars. I collected my S3 exactly a week ago, took the chance and applied the Gtechniq G1 to all the glasses. To my surprise the wipers have been working perfectly!

IMO I like the G1 better then the G5.

The Gtechniq Panel wipe will be very good at removing/reducing the G5 on your windscreen mate.

Same here though my windscreen is not treated with anything but terrible wiper judder, especially drivers side.
Was going to clean with some IPA, any thoughts

I too had the judder! Driver's side wiper, right end (as you look out of the car). Used Auto Glym glass cleaner on the screen and wiper rubber. After 3 or 3 weeks, the wiper has started to behave itself!

When I test drove an S3 saloon from Cheshire Oaks Audi it was same... was hoping it was just that car... ar well one to look out for when I get mine!

I have carpro flyby40 on my windscreen and had the same problem. After a couple of month's and several washes the juddering is gone and protection still seems to be there.

I had wiper judder the first time it rained after picking up the car and the first 10 minutes was horrendous, it disappeared after the first proper wash of the car though. No issues since.

My drivers side judders all the time in the rain. I had an Accord that did this with every single Honda branded wiper I purchased, worked OK for 9 months then started to judder again. I eventually scrapped them for a pair of Bosch wipers from Autobulbs Direct and had the buggers for about 4 years without any problems. I highly recommend them.

I took my s3 back to Audi with this issue yesterday, the guy came out had one look at them juddering and said that he will book me in to have new wipers fitted.

Bit of an update, second week of ownership and with real rain oppose to the jet washer which obviously has some additive in it the wipers are juddering bad. I have a MY16 saloon and the wiper lengths are slightly different to the SB, the LHS is 475mm oppose to 450mm. Ordered a set of Bosch Aerotwin in 650mm / 475mm with a push tab (which happens to be for a Mondao) and I can confirm they now come with Bosch Aerotwin as OEM. Secondly even through the "new" blades are the push tab the tab on the blades for Fords are different to VAG so I will end up just using the rubber blades.

My car was treated with G1 and had The Judders real bad. I'm not sure if the blades just needed to bed in but after a few Scottish showers the juddering went away.

My detailing man reckons he's only seen a couple of Gtechniq - treated windscreens suffer this issue. Anyway he has suggested a wipe clean with IPA (fairly well diluted) and then spray on some C2 (which I happen to have already) and buff off. He reckons that will stop it. He recommended C2 on the wiper rubbers too. He reckons he can sort it easily if I don't manage.

I'll be on the beer tonight till after dark so will report back on Friday.

Update of sorts - Haven't had time to apply C2 yet. However, I went this morning to take car for alloygators to be fitted (another thread on that !) today. Early morning condensation on windscreen - single wiper sweep to clear it - not a trace of judder ! Very strange. We are dure to get a shower or two on Sunday so will see how it is then. Hope I don't need to use up the C2 on it after all.....
