So I'm looking to get a dual exhaust fitted to my B8, its a pipe at each end of the car, so I will need one of the pipes routed around to the drivers side of the car. I have the dual diffuser already, is there anything else I will need?

On a quick google search, a thread came up but it was a B6 a4, the guys told him he needed a needed a new exhaust hanger, 2 bolts and a heat shield for the drivers side of the car.

Is this true on the B8 and will I need to get this stuff myself or will the exhaust centre thats fitting my exhaust, have everything I need?

What setup are you going for? .. A pipe extension, or new backboxes?

You will need the hanger and heatsheld if you are installing a new backbox. When I completed the dual exhaust conversion I needed the heatsheld and an extra hanger for the additional backbox as I used a system from a 1.8T on my B6 A4.

Just doing 2 straight pipes from the mid box back Shaun. Had no backbox on the old a4 and it sounded well, just a little grunt off it.

I didn't do mine but had same as you describe done by EPM performance, Straight piped from mid box and no back boxes. Maybe call and ask the cheaky question ? :)

From the pictures i took when I picked it up, I see a hanger welded in, looks like they put some heat sheilding on the right side from the first picture...

How much would job like that cost? The exhaust split.

I paid 450 or 500 but cant remember exactly now, if I had the equivelent Miltek would of doubled the price + fitting so by far my preferred choice and I didnt want back boxes.

Cool. Cheers.

Yea I've read a bit on the Miltek ones and they are awesome but you could easily pay 2-4x more than what you paid depending on the setup.

You need the following:

1 x Right Side Heat Shield: 8K0 804 172
3 x Clips to put Heat Shield on: N 903 350 05
1 x Exhaust Hanger: 8K0253144M

Thanks guys. Do I need the heat shield and hanger even if I'm not getting a backbox?

Mine looks to have so I suspect yes.
It is near your fuel tank which you dont want to warp with heat or heat up, so even if someone says they havent on their 1.2 saxo, I still would to protect your tank from the heat.

Yes I agree I would still put the heat shield on to be safer!

For the sake of £30, approx., get the heat shield, oh and you need the nut for the hanger, it's sold separately.

Like others have said I would get it, it's super easy to fit and better safe than sorry.

Manda, from your photos it looks like you do not have it installed. The center heat shield is standard, you need the right hand side one that wraps on the tank and spare wheel well in the middle, if you look on the left side of the car you can see the silver shield protruding slightly. That's the one the part number I posted is for.

You could be right, find out on Wednesday when it goes on the ramp and my stupid seized caliper is swapped with the one from the breakers

OK good luck with it, if you don't have it and want to install it you should be able to do it on your drive, I put mine in before my exhaust went on by only slightly lifting it up with a jack.
