:sadlike:

I had to do the slow wiper repair on mine today....

All good you might think, yes, the repair went well.

But, just as I was finishing off I dropped the ratchet on to the edge of the screen and, dammit, it cracked it.....

Gutted. Saved the money on a new wiper assembly, but now got to pay the excess on a new screen.....

Hi Al,

Feel for you mate, I did exactly the same thing performing the exact same repair, doh! Dropped a 3/8 drive ratchet onto the bottom corner of the screen just after I did up the last wiper arm nut.

And me mate ! Did it when getting the scuttle panel out , managed to break that too .

I worked out that if you pull upwards on the scuttle it just pops out.... I was impressed with myself for that too.😜
and I found that only one of the spindles was seized.

I just couldn't get my breath when I dropped the ratchet.

On a positive note though, the wipers do work properly now. (In fact better than they ever have)

It's on my list as annual preventive maintenance

It's not a difficult job, it was just my carelessness that's caused me the problem.

just to note it was only the drivers side spindle that had seized on mine.....

My granddads neighbour tried to help me with mine, he tried to use a screwdriver to try and prise off my wiper arm and cracked my screen stupid mistake!!!!

I'm pretty sure in my How-To guide I never said to break the screen?!
