Help number plate lights not working

My rear number plate lights are not working anyone any ideas Tryed new bulbs but with no luck
 
Make sure contacts are clean, make sure the bulbs are a tight fit and check to see if you have 12v
 
Nice one cheers pal ill try that when I get home. Just got it back from paint shop so maybe theyv got abit of paint on contacts then
 
Hey bud, few of the guys have had the same problem (myself included). Are they OEM bulbs?
 
Yea there OEM ones well there from skoda. Cleaned all contacts up tonite an still no look so going to have to get a multi meter tomorrow an check them out. Guessing there a pain for not working on the a3.
 
Check for any errors on the cars systems, clear them, test with a meter & then plug in, see if work again.
 
Sound ill get lads at work to plug it in vagcom tomorrow an see what it says

Got new bulbs and cleaned terminals up an still not working. checked today an only got 1 vault showing has anyone any ideas before I get pulled by the law lol

Have you plugged it into vagcom yet?
 
Is the boot handle/button working? The lights are on the same loom/plug. Might be worth checking the inside of the boot lid

Could be that the rear wiper/wash has leaked and corroded or shorted the plug
