I have an annoying problem with my avant tailgate lock.Sometimes the boot will unlock normally along with the rest of the car using the remote fob and other times i have to open it manually with the key.Anybody have any ideas?

Sounds like the solenoid is on it's way out. I had the same problem with my boot on my convertible.
Mine kinda does that. Sometimes it'll open when the rest of the car is unlocked. Other times I have to press and hold the tailgate release button on the fob and it pops open.
Dead annoying in a kidnapping scenario.
Never tried actually using the key in the keyhole though. Presume there is a keyhole hidden somewhere?
