I know it's been a while, but I also wanted to chime in with the same issue as Larbel.
Retrofitted the MIB2 into my PFL S3 with out B&O.
No sub control anymore, audio just sounds meh at best.
Being an audio engineer, this is killing me
Thank you :icon thumright: it was pretty intense to say the least.
You have no idea how bad I wanted to do that. Haha! Unfortunately I have quite a bit of money sunk into this one at the moment, don't want ANOTHER S3, when I really want an RS3 and most of the parts wont swap over :wtf:
The final step was installing the USB ports for CarPlay and Android Auto in the center console.
Step one was to remove the glove box so I could route the wiring from behind the MIB into the center console.
Here you can see where the MOST (orange) and Info cables are going to the cluster...
Another thing to note, is the upper steering column trim is also different between the clusters. You have to cut the two apart and combine the back part of the new one, with the front part of the old one. The new trim, that attaches behind the steering wheel, is curved where it meets the back of...
MIB2, Virtual Cluster, CarPlay kit, and all associated wiring has arrived.
The MIB2 was simply plug and play. It was properly coded and prepared for my vehicle, with USA Maps installed, thanks to APG in Poland. This has been one of the most amazing companies I've ever worked with. They have an...
After more research, it appears that the only way to get the Start Button and Drive Select working is modifying the steering wheel wiring and clockspring wiring. Here are some diagrams for reference. More on this later.
They say they are all black, but in fact we have a Gray, White, and...
I am attempting to retrofit a MK3 TTRS steering wheel, Virtual Cockpit, MIB2, and Carplay into my Pre Face Lift S3.
The updated steering wheel is necessary to have access to the "VIEW" button, to change display settings on the VC.
I will pre-face this by saying that I haven't found another...
For anyone wondering, if you have the MIB1 MMI High controller, it will still work the same with the MIB2. The only difference is the top left button only says NAV instead of NAV/MAP.
Can you talk to the MMI with VCDS? That is crucial. The MMI has to be set up properly to be able to display the maps on the VC. Most of the basic functions would work no matter what, but the maps will not. I can try to assist with this if you ever try to do the swap.
I did all of the coding for...
Well that's good then. I started with the MIB1 so getting the 2 made up about half of the cost.
You could probably source all the parts for around $1500 id say.
You'd need:
-Cluster
-Bracket for cluster
-32pin connector on the back of the cluster
-Trim bezel
-0.0 trip button
-Steering column...
