update: cars going through a oil consumption test at the moment, its done about 180 miles now and its just about at minimum. cars booked to go back into audi tomorrow to fail it and move to the next stage. prior to all this, spoke to the audi tech, said new engine/rebuild will cost £5000...

don't let the dealer bully you, your covered under trading standards, i can't remember which one to quote him though, but if you go on google and find your consumer rights print it off, read it and take a copy of it with you when you go over if he gives u lip, let us know how you get on too...

i would of gave in and of bought another one elsewhere...you have mega patience!
