Check the video below it’s a good test for winter tires
I can justify paying for them because I live in Scotland and I do drive on rural untreated roads

As said above you really noticed the difference once the temperatures are low and the work even better with a car that’s 4x4.
I used to own a Subaru Forester with winter tires and it was amazing at how far you could go when the conditions were really bad!

Sorry not been on here for a while, yes I love the snow too and I do a lot of snowboarding when we get the snow. It’s looking like a good start to the season already [emoji16]
I fitted 10mm front and 12mm rear and they look perfect pictures below [emoji108] am planning on lowering the car with...
They probably won’t fit on the S4 due to the calliper size, but they look good
I fitted some H&R spacers to my OEM wheels last week and the car definitely sits better. Am having the winter tires fitted this week, it’s already snowing in Scotland [emoji3063]

Also depends on how you use your car? I like fast road driving and I prefer to have a good thickness of tire wall to maximise grip so I am going to stick with standard wheel size 19”
If you like stance or want a show car look then go big as you like!

Am considering the 19" Vossen VFS 1 in graphite, there is a link below with a Audi B9 with 20" Vossen VSF 1's but I don't want to go that big and ruin the handling.

I have decided to stick the winters tires back on the stock wheels and buy some aftermarket wheels like 19” Vossen’s come spring
I will have to purchase some alloy protection like AlloyGator because the 245 Continental T860 gave very little protection!
I would personally use the OEM size 8.5j with either the OEM offset ET40 or something like ET35 or 30 to bring the wheel out a little
I know others have gone wider 9j and 10j but that’s a little to wide for me
