How to trick the boot switch?

Hello, Is it possible to trick the boot switch to think it’s closed? I’ve got a b7 A4 Avant and the onboard computer thinks the boots open, which means I can’t get any onboard info and also I can’t get the alarm to activate. Is it possible to trick the boot switch temporarily to think it’s...

    2.0tfsi re map thoughts?

I’m in for the comments as I’m also wondering the same thing. My cars needing a new exhaust so was thinking about doing a decat, centre silencer and back box in slightly bigger pipework and then getting mapped so would be interested to see what people say about their results after mapping.

    Average lifespan of TFSI ?!

Yea it really didn’t need changed. I didn’t have any oil pressure issues but I did have a cam chain rattle so the hope was that the pipe was blocked causing low pressure to the tensioner. It would of been a cheap fix however it didn’t sort the rattle so had to bite the bullet and get the...

    Average lifespan of TFSI ?!

Wasn’t as bad as I was expecting if I’m honest! Car was on 105,000 miles. Decent service history for most of its life until the owner pervious to me had let it slip a bit. There was a wee bit of sludge in the bottom of the sump but nothing drastic. And then there were a few bits of plastic - I...

    Average lifespan of TFSI ?!

Late reply but I did it myself a few months ago. Not too difficult just fiddly. Think it took about 4hrs start to finish. The engine needs to be supported from above like the below picture. Then the rear subframe bolts need lowered about 1” and the front subframe bolts removed, remove the...

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Hahaha! No - cars usually empty! 26 was me trying real hard to drive economically. I’ve got a small blow from the exhaust which I know won’t be helping! It is an Auto..... so that might make the difference! :(

What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

Today I fitted my new and freshly refurbed Le Mans wheels. Really pleased with them. Just need to get some lowering springs and some spacers and then it will be perfect. Very happy with them:

New Owner: A4 Avant Quattro 2.0T Special edition

Hello fellow Renault Sport Clio owner! I went from A MK2 Clio 182 to an avant 2.0 TFSI and I’m enjoying it. Looks like a decent list of things you have on your to do list. Did you notice much difference adding the rear ARB? Thinking about tying to get my hands on an RS4 one as I’ve read they...

2.0 TFSI Quattro sump removal tips

Yea I used that engine stand thing to support the engine in its natural position and then went underneath. Loosened the rear subframe bolts by about 1” and then took the inner ABR clamps off and then loosened the front subframe bolts all the way out and took the engine mounts out both sides...

2.0 TFSI Quattro sump removal tips

Updating this for anyone in the future! I removed the sump and changed the pick up last night in about 5 hours on a ramp with a mate without too much difficulty. We decided that instead of disconnecting the air con pipe and loosing all the refrigerant that we would de-tension the belt by...
