Nobody knows what is going to happen and I think the main damage will be economic. Top tip(even for normal life without the current crisis): Sit down and work out what you would do if made redundant tomorrow or your income reduces and act accordingly. Have an emergency fund to tide you over...
Recently I have had a strange whirring resonance which I noticed off throttle. Thought it was speed related but then realised it was at 2200rpm. In the recent cold weather the tyre pressures have dropped 5psi all round. Inflated tyres and the noise has gone. (Suspect the garage may of adjusted...
Just had mine done at a Indy for peace of mind , 3 years and 22k miles. He said it did not need done and only had a couple of bits of carbon in it. 90% of the time my car has a easy life.
I learned to avoid "that company" many years ago when I bought a Saxo VTS and they refused to fix the quality problems with it. I have since checked the parent company of any garage I deal with to make sure there is no connection. Good priced cars though and if you don't have a problem its...
Running Michelin Pilot Sport 4's 225/40 r18 running standard pressures-ish. Actually 34psi front, 37psi rear. They have done at least 5k miles and still 5mm all round. I make good progress so am really happy with the rate of wear. Sure there are stickier tyres out there but its my daily...
Wow! My rear wheel drive car tyres lasted longer than that and they are softer. :-) Inspired by this thread on the way home from work on quite wet roads I was trying to get my car rear end to break traction or do anything other than under steer without success. Absolutely no rear end issues...
Did you physically check the tyres when you bought the car? The only timer I had more wear on the rear is when I swapped the tyres from front to back.
I am currently running PS4's and like them. They really come to life when it more than 10 degrees outside but were still fine through last...
My 2016 car is has done 18k and the rear discs only are really badly scored and corroded but pads have lots of wear left. As its a second car it can sit for a few days so they get rusty. I suspect the discs are made of chocolate.
Anyone noticed a slight vibration from the clutch at the bite point ? Only happens after 5 minutes in start stop traffic. I cannot get it to do it when just driving around.
On my FL car you can select reverse and the handbrake releases automatically or press the foot brake and release the handbrake manually without the seatbelt on. Was very confusing at the start.
I was going to get my rear brakes done for the same reason and was quoted £380. ( 2016 15k miles) My car sits around for a few days at a time so they rust. Car goes in for the service and was advised they may need looked at next service. I concluded I will change the whole lot when the pads are...
